Oduvil Unnikrishnan (13 February 1944 – 27 May 2006) was an award-winning Indian film actor known for his versatile acting skills, shown in his portrayal of classical ancient aristocratic personalities in Malayalam cinema with his unique provincial linguistic style, expressions and dialect. He was noted as a serious as well as comic actor. He composed music for an album named Parasuram Express (1984) to lyrics written by Bichu Thirumala and an unreleased film named Sarvam Saha directed by Ravi Gupthan.

Premachandran (Mohanlal) is a carpenter who lives along with his father, Balan Master (Bharath Gopi), and works along with his friend, Manikandan (Innocent). They are now working on a house near the house of a rich landlord. Kanmani (Meera Jasmine), who was sold by her mother, works in that house as a servant and is ill-treated. Seethamma (KPAC Lalitha) lives along with her daughter, Kumari (Muthumani), who has a liking towards Premachandran. One night, Premachandran goes to his workplace to take his tools. He sees Kanmani leaving the house and is puzzled. He follows her. She was on the verge of committing suicide when Premachandran rescues her. He gives her shelter in one room in a building owned by Chettiyar (Oduvil Unnikrishnan), telling Chettiyar that his friend did not get the bus to go back home. Kanmani dresses up as a boy by the name of Velayuthan Kutty and soon starts working with Manikandan and Premachandran. Balan Master starts liking the disguised boy. One day, Premachandran tells Kanmani that he has planned to rescue her by sending her to Tamil Nadu to work in a banian company where Premachandran's friend is working. Kanmani refueses to go. Premachandran accidentally confesses to Manikandan that Velayuthan Kutty is actually the missing Kanmani. Manikandan has no peace and shouts out the truth in the middle of the night. Two policemen, accidentally hear this and take Premachandran and Kanmani into custody.

Achuvinte Amma is a movie that tells the deep rooted relation between a mother, Vanaja (Uravashi) and a daughter Achu (Meera Jasmine). Vanaja is a street smart LIC agent who has made it on her own. She lives with her only daughter Aswathy alias Achu who holds a diploma in Civil Engineering. Mother and daughter share a special relationship and are like friends. The movie begins with Sethurama Iyer Mammooty visiting Isow Alex (Kalabhavan Mani), a convicted serial killer who is awaiting his execution. Alex was arrested and convicted for the cold-blooded murder of seven people in two different families. Alex, who had been living a wild life then, had committed the crime high on narcotic drugs. The murder case was left to the CBI for investigation and an able officer, played by Siddique, nabbed Alex in no time. Alex is now a new man, mainly due to the influence of a priest (Gopi), who requests Iyer to visit Alex.

The film begins when Gopika (Kavya Madhavan) and her father(Oduvil Unnikrishnan) came to stay in a house where Bharathiyamma(Kaviyoor Ponnamma) stays with her two children Balu Damodar (Indrajith) and Ambili(Suja Karthika). Bharathiyamma has one more son Unni Damodar(Dileep) who is working in Dubai. Unni tells his family that he is working in Gulf but in reality he runs illegal spirit business with Bhai (Murali) along with Achayan and Achuvettan in Walayar. He accepts a four-year jail punishment actually the accused was Bhai. Unni, however confesses what he does, to Gopika whom his mother is insistent that he should marry. After leaving the jail Paramasivam(Unni) realizes that Bhai has been fall into a big debt because of the cheating of Chinnadan (Kalasala Babu) and his Sons. He then again goes to valayar and thus saves Bhai and his family from debt with his wicked mind and tricks. He again rules spirit deals in Valayar area pulling the Chinnadans into trouble. Things change when Unni's brother (Indrajith) becomes a police officer. He got posting in Valayar area, where Unni and Bhai have become big-time rowdys. In Valayar, Balu tries his level best to catch Valayar Paramasivam (Dileep) but does not know that it is his brother; and fails in mind game played by Dileep. This makes Bhai angry with Balu. But Paramasivam tells him to forgive Balu because he was his brother. In the meantime, Chinadan kills Bhai's only son Johny and blames Balu as the real killer. This made Bhai very desperate and wants to kill Balu. Bhai kidnaps him. On knowing this, Paramasivam goes to save his brother Balu and informs Bhai that the actual killer was CI (Shammi Thilakan) by identifying the ring marks in Johny's face. Paramasivam then confesses him that he will not lie to his bhai.

Sachidanandan (Dileep) runs an antique shop in the Jewish street at Kochi. He is famous for old Gramophone records. Jennifer (Meera Jasmine), Pattu Set (Oduvil Unnikrishnan), ‘Saigal’ Yousuf and Tabla Bhaskaran (Salim Kumar) are Sachi's fathers close friends. The movie starts with Khaled Muhammad aka Baba(Sharat Saxena) in jail telling one of his henchmen to kill the kerala chief minister Ravi Menon(Murali).Sahadevan(Dileep) is the son of a police constable(Oduvil Unnikrishnan) who works in the dog squad. Sahadevan has only one ambition and that is to join the police department and for that he has cleared the exams and is waiting for the physical test. But he has an enemy, his own brother-in-law Peethambaran(Jagathy Sreekumar) who does not like him.Some of Baba's henchmen with the help of commissioner Gauri shankar(Ashish Vidyarthi) plan to kill the CM by placing a bomb in his room in the hospital when Ravi Menon was unwell.However Sahadevan foils the plan as his dog Arjun sacrifices himself. The blame is put on him by the police commissioner but he is saved by the DGP(Vijayaraghavan). Because the commissioner is aware of Sahadevan's knowings about the bomb plan,he along with Peethambaran deliberately fails him in the physical test. When he finds out who the crooks are, he tries to find a way to foil it and that hope was to become a private detective via his uncle Karamchand(Captain Raju). He becomes a private detective and calls himself CID Moosa,Shortform of Moolamkushiyil Sahadevan. He has a funky car that do different tricks to assist him in evading his enemies. During all of this he falls in love with a girl named Meena (Bhavana).After innumerable attempts,he makes her fall in love with him.Meanwhile,he managed to intercept the first terrorists who planned to place the bomb in the hospital. Gauri in anger destroys Moosa's office saying it doesn't have license.When Moosa goes to the CM for a petition,the CM's car explodes.Moosa is applauded for saving him.Then he kills the second terrorist and gets a Rs.5 lakhs as a reward. Meena then told Moosa that those terrorists were sharing tenants in her house and filed a case to the commissioner not realising that she would be arrested as soon as she reached her flat.the commissioner tries to molest Meena but Moosa intervenes to save her.Later Gauri forces the CM to issue a warrant against Moosa which he reluctantly accepts.On the way home,Ravi Menon sees Baba on the road(he gets released from jail).Moosa meets the CM to prove his innocence but Baba enters to assault the CM and shoots him in his arm.Moosa takes the CM to safety in his cars and uses the different tricks and devices in his car to evade the police.Then he gets intercepted by Gauri and Baba but kills them using his wits and a little help from his dog.The CM is saved and now Moosa is sent to Scotland to solve bigger cases.
