Patrick Tam Kar-ming (譚家明 en chinois, Tán Jiāmíng en hànyǔ pīnyīn) est un réalisateur hongkongais né le 25 mars 1948.
En 1987, il réalise le film Final Victory sur un scénario de Wong Kar-wai. Cette comédie réunit Eric Tsang et Tsui Hark.
Il est monteur de deux films de Wong Kar-wai : Nos années sauvages (1990) et Les Cendres du temps (1994). Les critiques le considèrent comme le mentor de Wong Kar-wai.
Après plusieurs années sans tourner, il réalise en 2006 After This Our Exile qui remporte de nombreux prix en Asie.
Il est professeur à l'Université municipale de Hong Kong dans la formation School of Creative Media.

Biography
Après avoir fait ses armes à la télévision, il réalise The Sword en 1980. Ce film, chorégraphié par Ching Siu-tung, est un des films marquant le début de la Nouvelle Vague hongkongaise d'où émerge aussi Tsui Hark et Ann Hui.En 1987, il réalise le film Final Victory sur un scénario de Wong Kar-wai. Cette comédie réunit Eric Tsang et Tsui Hark.
Il est monteur de deux films de Wong Kar-wai : Nos années sauvages (1990) et Les Cendres du temps (1994). Les critiques le considèrent comme le mentor de Wong Kar-wai.
Après plusieurs années sans tourner, il réalise en 2006 After This Our Exile qui remporte de nombreux prix en Asie.

In hopeless pursuit of happiness, Shing (Aaron Kwok) is a man who desperately attempts to hold on to the dwindling threads of his family. Louis (Leslie Cheung) is a lovely young man from a rich family and misses his dead mother. He has a good friendship with his cousin Kathy (Pat Ha). Louis and Kathy later meet Tomato (Cecilia Yip), who becomes Louis' girlfriend, and Pong (Kent Tong), who becomes Kathy's boyfriend. The four live a casual life together, hang out aimlessly, and share their dreams and difficulties with one another on frequent trips to Hong Kong's outlying islands. But Kathy's past returns to haunt her. She once lived in Japan, and had romance with Shinsuke Takeda (Yung Sai-Kit), a Japanese who is the member of Japanese Red Army. Shinsuke Takeda is bored of the life as a Red Army member and wants to quit the organization. This leads to a vow of revenge by the organization and Shinsuke Takeda runs to Kathy to ask for help. However, he was eventually found by the killers dispatched by the Red Army and both Kathy and Shinsuke are killed, while Louis and Tomato, who is pregnant with Louis's kid, survive the crisis.
