Gaitán also played a girl kidnapped by sex traffickers in the 2007 movie Trade alongside Kevin Kline. She portrayed Sabina, a lead role in the Mexican horror drama We Are What We Are (Somos Lo Que Hay) in 2010. In addition, she has played the role of Zuvely in the short film En Tus Manos, which was also released in 2010.

Paulina Gaitán Ruíz (born 19 February 1992) is a Mexican actress.
Biography
Paulina Gaitán was born in Mexico City, Distrito Federal. Gaitán started acting at age 9 and at the age of 12 had an important role in Mexican director Luis Mandoki's Innocent Voices, a tale about the civil war in El Salvador. She was the female lead in the Cary Joji Fukunaga film Sin Nombre, where she played the character of Sayra, who joins her father and uncle when they try to migrate from Honduras to the United States, and ends up travelling with El Casper, a gang member, played by actor Edgar Flores.Gaitán also played a girl kidnapped by sex traffickers in the 2007 movie Trade alongside Kevin Kline. She portrayed Sabina, a lead role in the Mexican horror drama We Are What We Are (Somos Lo Que Hay) in 2010. In addition, she has played the role of Zuvely in the short film En Tus Manos, which was also released in 2010.

Willy, nicknamed El Casper, is a member of the Mara Salvatrucha gang and lives in Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico. He introduces a young boy into his gang, and the boy is given the nickname Smiley after a violent initiation. Casper later helps Smiley to complete this initiation by helping him execute a rival gang-member. Casper is romantically involved with a girl, Martha Marlen. Fearing for the girl's safety, he keeps the relationship a secret from his gang, but his double life causes his gang to doubt his loyalty. When Martha follows Casper to a gathering of his gang, the gang leader, Lil Mago, escorts her out, despite Casper's misgivings. Mago attempts to rape Martha and accidentally kills her. Later, he blithely tells Casper that he will find another.

In a poor family in Mexico City, Adriana (Paulina Gaitán) celebrates her 13th birthday, and is happy about the bicycle her 17-year-old brother Jorge (Cesar Ramos) gives her. Their mother suspects Jorge has got the money for the present in a dishonest way, and forbids Adriana to ride it. Indeed, Jorge lures a tourist into a quiet street pretending to bring him to a prostitute, and with two friends rob the man by threatening him with guns. After the tourist complies, the three carry out a mock execution, revealing that the guns are only water guns.

In 1986, Chava is a young 11-year-old boy from El Salvador. His father escaped to the United States at the start of the civil war when he was only 5. His family lives in a small town of Cuscatancingo that is currently heavily fought over between the Salvadoran army and the El Salvador guerrillas. His mother makes a living for the family by sewing, and Chava sells the clothes in shops. When he's not in school, Chava works for a bus driver announcing stations for him as a part-time service to help his family with money.
