Pepe Danquart (né le 1er mars 1955 à Singen) est un réalisateur allemand.
Danquart réalise surtout des courts métrages et des documentaires sur la société allemande. En 1994, il remporte l'Oscar du meilleur court métrage de fiction pour Le Voyageur noir.
Avec Heimspiel, Höllentour et Am Limit, il réalise trois documentaires sur le sport en s'intéressant aux Eisbären Berlin, au Tour de France et aux alpinistes Thomas et Alexander Huber.

Biography
Danquart étudie de 1975 à 1981 à l'université de Fribourg-en-Brisgau les sciences de l'information et de la communication. De 1984 à 1986, il enseigne à l'Académie allemande du film et de la télévision de Berlin et depuis 2008 à la Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg.Danquart réalise surtout des courts métrages et des documentaires sur la société allemande. En 1994, il remporte l'Oscar du meilleur court métrage de fiction pour Le Voyageur noir.

Frank Lehmann (Christian Ulmen) is a bartender working in Kreuzberg, a borough of West Berlin in October 1989, in the final weeks before the fall of the Berlin Wall. As he is approaching his 30th birthday, his friends start teasing him by calling him "Herr Lehmann" ("Mr. Lehmann"). He has little interest in anything outside of SO 36, the eastern part of the borough of Kreuzberg. He has a brief relationship with Katrin (Katja Danowski), a cook at a nearby bar. His best friend, Karl (Detlev Buck) slowly goes mad, and his parents show up for a visit, disrupting his laid-back lifestyle.

During the Spanish Civil War the 14-year-old Doña Catalina (Yohana Cobo) is captured by war criminal Antonio Alvarez. She is forced to witness how her father is murdered with a traditional bullfighting weapon known as „rejón de muerte“. Following that her father's murderer rapes her. After this traumatic experience she can get hold of a knife and attempts to take revenge. But she is grabbed by one of Alvarez' accomplices who also tries to abuse her. She stabs him and escapes. A friendly couple saves her. Doña Catalina recovers but turns out being pregnant. The birth is difficult and the couple tells Doña her boy had died. Later they disappear and take the allegedly dead boy with them.

A motorbiker (Stefan Merki), who early in the film was unable to start his motorcycle, boards a tram, and witnesses a black man (Paul Outlaw) sitting down next to an elderly white woman (Senta Moira). In the entire 12 minutes, the old woman racially abuses the black man, stating that blacks stink, are unintelligent, criminal and the perfect carrier for AIDS. The biker feels uncomfortable, but does not dare to interrupt. The black man stays quiet for the entire film, until the tram controller arrives: when the old woman produces her ticket, he grabs and swallows it. When the old woman accuses the black man of eating her ticket, he coolly shows his valid ticket to the controller; the latter nods at him and arrests the old woman. The punch line is that both the black man and the old woman are "Schwarzfahrer" now: the black man who rides a train, is a non-offensive "black rider", while the old woman now is a real law-breaking Schwarzfahrer (i.e. fare dodger). The one passenger the viewer knows who never possessed a ticket, the motorbiker, escapes without the controller checking his ticket.
