Peter Duffell (né le 10 juillet 1922, mort le 12 décembre 2017) est un réalisateur et scénariste britannique de cinéma et de télévision.

Biography

Peter Duffell nait à Canterbury en 1922.

Après avoir réalisé des courts métrages dans les années 1960, il rencontre un premier succès en 1971 avec un film d'horreur, La Maison qui tue (The House That Dripped Blood) avec Christopher Lee. Il refuse par la suite de se limiter à ce genre cinématographique, et réalise une adaptation d'un roman de son ami Graham Greene, England Made Me, puis un film sur la deuxième Guerre mondiale, L'Enlèvement (Inside Out).

Il meurt en 2017 à l'âge de 95 ans.

In 1975, Harry Morgan (Telly Savalas) and Sylvester (Sly) Wells (Robert Culp) come up with a plan to recover six million dollars of Nazi gold, lost since the end of World War II. The story begins during the Third Reich. A crew of Nazi soldiers is driving a cargo truck through the Black Forest when they are stopped by a road block of SS commandos. The SS hijack the truck and its cargo killing its passengers. Thirty-four years later Harry Morgan is driving his Rolls Royce home in London where a repossession agent is waiting to confiscate the car. Harry gives him the keys as he boasts that he will soon own another one. He enters his family's apartment where he has a brief conversation with his wife Meredith (Lorna Dallas) about their debts and the building that is soon to be sold. As he looks through the bills he finds a letter addressed to him from someone in his past requesting to meet with him.

Shortly after renting an old country house, film star Paul Henderson mysteriously disappears and Inspector Holloway (John Bennett) from Scotland Yard is called to investigate. Inquiring at the local police station, Holloway is told some of the house's history. He then contacts the estate agent (John Bryans) renting the house, who elaborates further by telling Holloway about its previous tenants.
