He was born in Sydney. He was introduced to the film industry by his father, director and cinematographer Peter Menzies Sr. He started as a camera loader and worked his way through the ranks in commercials and features as a camera assistant and later as an operator.
He is famous for Die Hard with a Vengeance, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Kangaroo Jack, Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, Shooter, The Incredible Hulk, and Clash of the Titans.

The Expendables—led by Barney Ross and formed by Lee Christmas, Gunnar Jensen, and Toll Road—extract former member Doctor Death, a knives specialist and team medic, from a military prison during his transfer on a train. In Belgrade, Serbia, former Scorpions soldier Emil Kovač (Travolta) meets his informant to retrieve a file on American military veteran and former NATO operative Colonel Benjamin Ford (De Niro). Bob Lee Swagger reluctantly leaves a self-imposed exile from his isolated mountain home at the request of Colonel Isaac Johnson, who appeals to him to help track down an assassin who is planning to shoot the president. On one side of town, a babysitter and the kids she is babysitting are brutally murdered. The police find that the murderer used his bare hands to tear them to shreds.
