Pooja Hegde is an Indian model and actress. A former beauty pageant contestant, she was crowned as the second runner-up at the Miss Universe India 2010 competition, before going on to make her acting debut in Mysskin's Tamil superhero film Mugamoodi (2012). She then featured in the Telugu films Oka Laila Kosam and Mukunda (2014), while signing on to feature as the lead actress in Ashutosh Gowariker's next venture, Mohenjo Daro (2016).

Biography

Pooja Hegde naît à Bombay dans l'état du Maharashtra, le 13 octobre 1990. Elle est la fille unique de Manjunath et Latha Hegde. Sa famille est originaire de Mangalore, au Karnataka. Sa langue maternelle est le toulou. Elle parle couramment le kannada, l'anglais, le marathi, l'hindi et le télougou. Elle étudie ensuite au M.M.K. College et commence à travailler dans la mise en œuvre du marketing de réseau de sa mère. Elle cherche régulièrement à entrer dans les compétitions intercollégiales, en participant à des spectacles de danse et à des défilés de mode.

L'action se déroule à l'époque de la civilisation de la vallée de l’Indus, au XXIe siècle av. J.-C., dans l'une des plus anciennes villes du monde, Mohenjo Daro. La ville est gouvernée par Maham, le chef du sénat. Malhonnête et très cruel, sa cupidité est sur le point de détruire la cité. Sarman (Hrithik Roshan), un jeune et courageux cultivateur d'indigo, se rend à Mohenjo Daro pour y échanger ses produits au marché. Il tombe alors amoureux de Chaani (Pooja Hegde). Fille d'un chef religieux, il lui a été prédit qu'elle serait à l’origine d’une nouvelle société. À sa naissance, elle a été promise à Moonja (Arunoday Singh), le fils de Maham. À l’issue d'une épreuve de force entre les deux hommes, Sarman va non seulement apprendre sa véritable identité et la raison de son lien fort à Mohenjo Daro mais aussi mettre en place le nouvel ordre, même si cela signifie sacrifier la vieille ville aux mains de la divinité de la rivière.

Karthik is a rich post graduate from ISB who completes his studies and comes back to India after a world tour. One fine day, he spots Nandana and falls head over heels for her. However Nandana develops hatred for Karthik because of few circumstances. When Karthik proposes to her, she rejects him point blank. Karthik's maternal uncle Pandu returns from Dubai and because of his hatred towards Karthik, he plans to take revenge by letting Karthik's parents arrange a bride for marriage against his wishes. Bruce Lee (Jiiva) is a martial arts specialist but unluckily he is unable to use those skills to make a living. Instead, he falls in love with Police Deputy Commissioner Gaurav's (Nassar) daughter Shakthi (Pooja Hegde), and tries to impress her and her elder sister's kids with his martial art skills. To make it more fun for them he pretends to be a superhero by wearing on a costume each time he visits. On his way back on one such visit, Lee finds himself caught in between cops and robbers chase in the city. He decides to assist the police and manages to nab one robber from the gang and hands him over to the police. Lee doesn't realize that by doing so he has asked upon himself the revenge of Dragon (Narain) who heads the same gang. As the police were involved too, Dragon eyes to take revenge on Police Commissioner Gaurav also. Dragon then connives a plan that eventually frames Lee as a robber and the attempted to kill the Police Commissioner. What lies ahead for Lee now is to prove his innocence to the Police, win his love back Shakthi and more importantly bring Dragon and his gang to justice.
