Rajendran is an Indian stunt double and actor in Tamil cinema. He has worked as a stunt double for over 500 South Indian films particularly Malayalam films and began acting in Pithamagan (2003). He played the role of a villain in Naan Kadavul (2009) and he continued to play villainous supporting characters in a number of Tamil films.
He began his career as a stuntman and worked in various films. While working for a Malayalam film as stunt master he had a sequence of jumping in a pond, following which he developed allergic reaction due to disposal of factory wastes in the pond ever since his hair growth stopped completely and he even lost his eyebrow hairs, from which he got this rough appearance. He did a small role in Pithamagan and made his full-fledged acting debut in Naan Kadavul (2009). His performance as a cruel leader who tortures beggars earned critical acclaim with a critic noting that he is "menacing and loathsome". Following his villainic comedy role in Boss Engira Bhaskaran (2010), he says he was typecasted in similar roles. He then appeared as a killer who dons the garb of women in Thirudan Police (2014) was appreciated by critics as "the ultimate showstealer and his already popular lady makeover clinches it big time". His first release in 2015 was Darling where he appeared as a ghostbuster Ghost Gopal Varma. M. Suganth of Times of India noted that "His bald head, thin figure and sandpapery voice make him effective for both villainous and comical roles but from the screams and whistles that his character gets, it is clear that he has made much more impact as a comedian". His second release of the year was Ivanuku Thannila Gandam where he appeared as a dreaded murderer. Before the release, Rajendran's presence in the film's promotional videos garned positive response. The film was released to negative reviews from critics but Rajendran's performance was appreciated by critics noting that "the film belongs to Rajendran as he comes out with his trademark dialogue delivery [..] and carries the entire film".

The film begins with a couple visiting a friend's home for dinner. To their surprise, the hosts are not home and the place is haunted. In the present, Raghava (Raghava Lawrence) works for the channel Green TV as a cameraman where his crush Nandini (Tapsee Pannu) also works. When Green TV drops down to second position in the ratings, Nandini advises to shoot a horror program to bring their channel back to the No.1 spot. After the board members agree on this plan, Nandini decides on a location with a house with an intense haunted look, without knowing the fact that it is actually haunted. She sets out with Raghava, his watchman Mayil (Mayilsamy), Dr. Prasad (Sriman) and the anchor Pooja (Pooja Ramachandran) to complete the task.

Sathya is an unemployed youth from Thanjavur, who goes to Trichy every month to meet his friend Sivakozhundhu and spend his day with the latter's salary. The film starts with the murder of ex-commissioner by an escaped prisoner Kamal Ekambaram (Riyaz Khan). The story then shifts to Masilamani aka Massu (Suriya) and his friend Jet Li (Premgi Amaren) who are small-time con artists. Massu falls for Manini (Nayantara) and they subsequently fall in love. While trying to escape after a heist gone wrong, Massu and Jet meet with a car accident, post which Massu starts seeing dead people, with whom he can communicate. Jet had died in the accident and is now a ghost, too. Massu forms a group of loitering ghosts to earn money by performing fake exorcisms and extorting money from scared rich people, while promising the ghosts that he would fulfill their last wishes in return. Meanwhile, Manini who thought Massu was working in a finance company gets to know about the fake exorcisms and leaves him in a heist.

Shakthi(Jayam Ravi) and Chinnasamy(Soori) are family enemies who fight over an election. During that time, Shakthi falls in love with Anjali, whom he later discovers is his enemies cousin. When their love rapidly heats up, Shakthi is forced to marry Divya(Trisha), a city girl. Before starting a life together, Divya tells Shakthi, they must get to know each other, but every time Shakthi tries to do something good, it ends bad. This leads them on a plan for divorce. In exchange, Shakthi tells Divya to agree and stay for a month with his parents so they won't get hurt over the fact that they made Shakthi marry someone who doesn't even like him. To make this worse, Shakthi's father gets Divya to stand for the female election to which she quietly agrees. When she loses in the family generation winning election, Shakthi's father angrily hits him. . That's when Shakthi reveals how he lost in love and life. Seeing how much he loves and respects his family and how his life has been, Divya slowly starts to like her husband. At the end Divya and Shakthi happily live together while they argue over little things; making their life filled with love.
