Richard Donald Crenna (November 30, 1926 – January 17, 2003) was an American motion picture, television, and radio actor and occasional television director.

Crenna starred in such motion pictures as The Sand Pebbles, Wait Until Dark, Un Flic, Body Heat, the first three Rambo movies, Hot Shots! Part Deux, the remake of Sabrina and The Flamingo Kid. Crenna played "Walter Denton" in the CBS radio network and CBS-TV network series Our Miss Brooks, and "Luke McCoy" in ABC's TV comedy series, The Real McCoys, (1957–63), which moved to CBS-TV in September 1962.

Biography

Richard démarra sa carrière à la radio et apparut dans Boy Scout Jamboree, Date With Judy et Our Miss Brooks.

Il gère la transition vers la télévision. Quand Our Miss Brooks est déprogrammé, il change pour un autre programme de télévision, The Real McCoys.

Sa prestation dans les trois premiers opus de la saga Rambo en tant que colonel Trautman fit connaître un second souffle à sa carrière au milieu des années 1980. Le rôle du colonel Trautman lui colla tellement à la peau qu'il le parodia avec un certain humour dans la comédie Hot Shots! 2.

Le visage du colonel Roy Campbell, personnage du jeu vidéo Metal Gear Solid est basé sur lui.

Il possède une étoile sur Walk of Fame au 6714 Hollywood Boulevard.

Son fils, Richard Anthony Crenna, est aussi acteur.
