Richard Reeves (August 10, 1912 – March 17, 1967) also billed as Dick Reeves, was an American actor best known for playing henchmen and thugs.

Reeves grew up in an affluent section of Queens, New York, the elder of two children of bank executive Walter Reeves and his wife, the former Marie Titsink. He studied music in school. At eighteen, Reeves signed on as a seaman aboard ships plying the New York-Havana route and spent much of the 1930s in that work. Shortly after the outbreak of World War II, in April, 1942, Reeves enlisted in the U.S. Army and rose to the rank of sergeant in the 1208 Service Command Unit. After his discharge following the end of World War II, Reeves moved to Los Angeles and began getting film work as an actor. He became a busy character actor in films in the late 1940s. Beginning in the early 1950s, he appeared in many television series. His height, build and appearance made him suitable for roles involving muscle.

Reeves appeared in several episodes of the Adventures of Superman TV series at various time during its run. He was unrelated to series star George Reeves, whose real surname was Bessolo. Reeves also appeared in various roles on several episodes of I Love Lucy.

Richard Reeves died of cirrhosis of the liver at age 54. He is buried in Oakwood Memorial Park in Chatsworth, California.

The film opens by a lake on Saint Patrick's Day as the story's young hero, an Irish boy named Matthew O'Brien (David Alan Bailey), is playing hooky from school and fishing with his best friend, Timothy Ryan (Ernest Vaio). As the time approaches to return home, the two boys go their separate ways and Matt soon finds a magic frog which he places in his pocket. Deciding to take a short-cut home through the woods, Matt quickly finds himself lost and soon encounters a leprechaun (Frank Delfino) whose beard is caught in a log. Matt, remembering the old Irish legends he's heard from his grandfather, agrees to help the little man on the condition that he give Matt his bag of gold, to which, according to legend, Matt knows the leprechaun cannot refuse. After freeing the little man, Matt soon learns that the seven gold coins in the bag are not ordinary coins, but magic "wishing coins", which only have power when used to do good for others. After warning Matt of the magic of the coins, the leprechaun promptly scampers off and vanishes into the woods, leaving the boy to find his own way out of the forest.
