Rikiya Otaka (大高力也, Ōtaka Rikiya, born 27 August 1991 in Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese actor.
At age 6 he was chosen to play the part of seven-year-old Yoichi Asakawa in Ring. Today, he (alongside Hiroyuki Sanada who played Ryuji Takayama in Ring) the most credited and popular male character in the Ring series. He reprised his role as Yoichi a year after the first sequel Rasen was a failure in the cinemas. In Ring 2, his character was the supporting male actor.
At 9 he worked as an extra and made a notable appearance in the hit TV series Kamen Rider Agito. He then rejoined Hideo Nakata to play Yuuchi in Sleeping Bride. He made small appearances in Kuroe and Umi wa miteita.
He then starred in a drama movie Catharisis as Subaru. He then starred as the main player's best friend in BBK Basketball Kids.
He more recently starred with Ken Watanabe in the drama-history film Kita no zeronen playing the Mamiya's son.

Naoki Ono, a 14-year-old boy murders a young girl in the suburbs of Tokyo. As a result, the large family change their names and live apart, while Naoki goes to a reformatory. Towako, his mother, stays away with her youngest son and youngest daughter, while her husband lives with other family. Three years later, Towako requests that the families reunites and go the island of her birth to be with her dying mother. Thus, the family are back together. But things aren't so simple. Katsumi, Naoki's sister hasn't been able to speak since her brother murdered the girl. Little Subaru (Otaka) has also suffered from the selfishness of his brother. And what of their uncle Satoshi and his family, his own son was killed. The family have never been a 'family' before.

Japon, fin de la période Edo. Ihara Fusanosuke, un jeune samouraï trouve refuge dans un bordel d'un quartier de prostitution à Edo après avoir mortellement tiré son sabre lors d'une soirée arrosée. Oshin, une jeune prostituée, le fait passer pour un de ses clients lorsque les autorités à la poursuite du jeune homme fouillent les lieux. Attiré par elle, Ihara se met à lui rendre visite régulièrement dans les mois qui suivent. Oshin tombe amoureuse et pour lui, décide de se purifier le corps. Elle est aidée en cela par Kikuno, une prostituée plus âgée, d'Okichi et d'Osone qui se partagent ses clients. Mais un jour Ihara vient leur annoncer la fin de son bannissement de la maison de son père et son mariage.

On March 13, 1954, a passenger plane crashes in Japan, killing all but one passenger: a woman who is nine months pregnant. Ultimately she dies in a hospital, but her unborn daughter is saved. However, for a reason inexplicable by the science of the day, the daughter (named Yumi) does not wake up and is essentially in a comatose state. Her wealthy father has her placed in a hospital where she will be cared for indefinitely (and also offers a reward to anyone who can wake her) while he vanishes in search of a cure to her condition.

While inspecting the corpse of Sadako Yamamura, the forensic experts note evidence that Sadako has died only a year or two ago, meaning that she was still alive in the sealed well for almost thirty years. They later reconstruct her body and send it to Takaishi Yamamura (Yoichi Numata), Sadako's uncle, who takes it on his boat and later casts it into the bottom of the ocean.
