Rita Rudner (born September 17, 1953) is an American comedian, writer and actress. Beginning her career as a Broadway dancer, Rita Rudner noticed the lack of female comedians in New York City and turned her stage presence to stand-up comedy where she’s flourished for over three decades. Her performance on a variety of HBO specials and numerous appearances on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, helped establish Rudner as one of the premiere female comics to emerge from the comedy boom of the 1980s. After extensive touring throughout the past 20 years, Rudner has created a steady career performing in Las Vegas at the Venetian Hotel while residing in Southern California.

Biography

Rudner and her husband adopted a daughter, Molly, in 2002. They permanently reside in the Southern California community of Laguna Beach.

Richard E. Grant plays Dr. Ben Bingham, a middle-aged ear, nose, and throat doctor. Carrie-Anne Moss plays Amanda, his vibrant wife. Amanda leaves Ben when the idea of sharing an empty nest with her inattentive husband becomes unbearable. Ben becomes depressed and tries to drown himself in alcohol. He walks around in pajamas until his son Justin (Johnny Pacar) gives his dad a makeover and introduces him to the social scene. Before long, Ben becomes so popular that he is pursued by his nurse, his personal trainer, and karaoke-loving twin sisters. However, things quickly change when Justin finds himself in love. It is now Ben’s turn to teach his son the art of romance and in the process recapture his own wife's love.

Thirty years ago Louie Anderson was the leader of a group of Cub Scouts, Den 7: "The Owl Patrol", consisting of himself, neurotic Richard, ladies man Belz, smooth talking Franklin and surfer dude Tim. Although an accomplished troupe, they fail in their attempt to earn the coveted "Arrow of Light" badge by camping on Mount Whitehead, getting lost and having to call their mothers for help. They also face daily harassment from Glen and Mark Grunsky, two bullies that were kicked out of the den.
