Robert Wallace Forster, Jr. (born July 13, 1941), known professionally as Robert Forster, is an American actor. He is best known for his roles as John Cassellis in Haskell Wexler's Medium Cool and Max Cherry in Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown, for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He has since appeared in films such as Mulholland Drive, The Descendants, Olympus Has Fallen, and its upcoming sequel London Has Fallen. He has also appeared in television series such as Heroes, Alcatraz, Last Man Standing, and Breaking Bad. He is a member of the Triple Nine Society.

Biography

Fils de Grace Dorothy (née Montanarella) et Robert Wallace Forster, Sr., Robert Forster nait à Rochester dans l'État de New York. Son père est dresseur d'éléphants pour les compagnies Ringling Bros. et Barnum & Bailey, puis plus tard encore, directeur d'une entreprise de boulangerie. Sa mère est italienne de naissance, et les racines paternelles sont d'Irlande et Angleterre. Ses parents divorcent en 1949.


Carrière
Il a joué dans de nombreuses séries Z, mais sa carrière est relancée en 1997 grâce à Quentin Tarantino qui lui offre le rôle de Max Cherry dans Jackie Brown.

En 2008, il rejoint le casting de la série Heroes pour incarner Arthur Petrelli, personnage retors et principal ennemi de la saison 3 de la série.

En 2011, il rejoint le casting de la nouvelle série de J. J. Abrams, le créateur de Lost : Les Disparus, Alcatraz. Cette série se déroule dans l'ancienne prison d'Alcatraz où des choses étranges apparaissent. Il rejoint au casting Jorge Garcia.

Il apparaît à la télévision dans la série Les Experts : Manhattan (saison 8 - épisode 1 - Travail de mémoire) au côté de Gary Sinise.

Il joue le rôle du mystérieux "disparaisseur" dans la série Breaking Bad (saison 5 - épisode 15) chargé de cacher le protagoniste Walter White du reste du monde dans le New Hampshire.
