Robert Knudson (September 29, 1925 – January 21, 2006) was an American sound engineer. He won three Academy Awards for Best Sound and was nominated for seven more in the same category. He worked on over 100 films between 1963 and 1995.
Après son mariage, il quitte le baseball et, profitant de l'essor de la télévision, il entre dans les studios son de RCA à Hollywood, puis en 1960 chez Todd-AO, une société spécialisée dans la post-production côté son. Il y passera la plus grande partie de sa carrière, il en devient président de 1982 à 1990, puis vice-président et enfin consultant jusqu'à son départ en 2003.

Biography
Robert Knudson sort de la Fairfax High School en 1944 et s'engage dans les US Army Air Forces pendant la guerre. Après la guerre, son père, qui travaillait dans un studio d'Hollywood, lui obtient une carte syndicale, mais au lieu de travailler dans le cinéma, il joue dans les ligues mineures de baseball jusqu'en 1952Après son mariage, il quitte le baseball et, profitant de l'essor de la télévision, il entre dans les studios son de RCA à Hollywood, puis en 1960 chez Todd-AO, une société spécialisée dans la post-production côté son. The story picks up after The Karate Kid, Part II. In the aftermath of his abusive behavior at the All-Valley Tournament, Sensei John Kreese (Martin Kove) loses all of his students. Ostracised and broke, he visits his Vietnam War comrade Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith), the wealthy billionaire owner of a toxic waste disposal business. Silver and Kreese scheme to take revenge on Daniel and Mr. Miyagi (Noriyuki "Pat" Morita), and re-establish Cobra Kai. Silver sends Kreese to Tahiti to rest up and get his life back in order.

C.D. "Charlie" Bales (Steve Martin), the fire chief of a small American ski town in Washington, is intelligent, humorous, charismatic, athletic and skilled. He is close to many in town, especially his godsister, Dixie (Shelley Duvall), who owns the town diner and several rental homes. He becomes immediately attracted to beautiful newcomer Roxanne Kowalski (Daryl Hannah), an astronomy student in town for the summer searching for a new comet. She adores Bales, but only as a friend, preferring Chris (Rick Rossovich), a handsome but dim fireman who has just joined Bales's unit to help turn it around. The film is set against the strict social hierarchy of an American public high school. Working class misfits Keith Nelson (Eric Stoltz) and the defensively tomboyish Watts (Mary Stuart Masterson) are good friends. But when Keith asks out the most popular girl in school, Amanda Jones (Lea Thompson), Watts realizes her feelings for him are much deeper. Meanwhile, Hardy Jenns (Craig Sheffer), Amanda's Corvette-driving spoiled ex-boyfriend from the rich end of town, plots trouble for Keith by inviting him and Amanda to a party after the date. Elsewhere, Amanda is cut dead by her friends. Keith finds out about the plot, believing Amanda to be party to it, but goes ahead with the date anyway, spending money saved for college and roping in Watts (as chauffeur) to help make the date special. At Jenns's party, the timely arrival of other "misfits" saves Keith from being beaten up. Keith tells Jenns he is "over" and Amanda slaps Jenns's face. In the end, Amanda decides that she needs to learn to stand on her own. Keith catches up to Watts and they kiss and walk on together.

Will Graham (William Petersen) is a former FBI criminal profiler who has retired because of a mental breakdown after being attacked by a cannibalistic serial killer, Dr. Hannibal Lecktor (Brian Cox) whom he captured. In 1916, the notorious bandit El Guapo (Alfonso Arau) and his gang of thugs are collecting protection money from the small Mexican village of Santo Poco. Carmen (Patrice Martinez), daughter of the village leader, searches for someone who can come to the rescue of her townspeople. Rachel Lapp (McGillis), a young Amish widow, and her 8-year-old son Samuel (Haas) are traveling by train to visit Rachel's sister. Samuel is amazed by the sights in the big city, but at 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, he witnesses two men attack and murder a third. Detective John Book (Ford) is assigned to the case and he and his partner, Sergeant Elton Carter (Jennings), question Samuel. Upon discovering that his wife is having an affair, depressed insomniac Ed Okin (Jeff Goldblum) drives to LAX on his friend Herb's (Dan Aykroyd) suggestion. Austin Millbarge is a geekish, basement-dwelling codebreaker for The Pentagon who aspires to escape his under-respected job to become a secret agent. Emmett Fitz-Hume, a wisecracking, pencil-pushing son of an envoy, takes the foreign service exam under peer pressure. Millbarge and Fitz-Hume meet during the test, on which Fitz-Hume openly attempts to cheat after an attempt to seduce his immediate supervisor in exchange for the answers backfires. Millbarge, however, was forced to take the test, having had only one day to prepare after his supervisor gives him a notice that was two weeks old.
