Robert J. Steinmiller, Jr. (born July 29, 1978) is an American actor.

Steinmiller was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the son of Stephanie, who works for municipal parks, and Robert J. Steinmiller, Sr., who manages a tire store. Steinmiller grew up in Schaumburg, Illinois. He began his acting career in 1989 in the theaterical production of Les Misérables. Steinmiller went onto star in films in the early 1990s, including Jack the Bear (for which he received a Young Artist Award nomination), Bingo, Rudy and The Ref. He appeared on TV in McDonald's commercials and an episode of The Untouchables.

In 2001, Steinmiller returned to the stage again in Damn Yankees at the Madrid Theatre, Los Angeles, United States. Most recently, Steinmiller starred in the Los Angeles production of Bye Bye Birdie at the Madrid Theatre, playing the role of Hugo Peabody.

In a charming Connecticut village, Lloyd and Caroline Chasseur (Kevin Spacey and Judy Davis) are in marriage counseling on Christmas Eve; the session doesn't go well and their problems become evident. Jack Leary (Robert J. Steinmiller Jr.) and his younger brother Dylan (Miko Hughes) start over in Oakland, California in 1972 following the death of the boys' mother Elizabeth. The boys live with their father John (Danny DeVito), who entertains late-night horror film audiences as Midnight Shriek host-commentator "Al Gory." Though devoted to his two sons, John has a drinking problem that disrupts the smooth running of the household. Some parental duties fall to Jack, who takes Dylan to his first day of preschool. Elizabeth's parents make regular visits. One of the Learys' neighbors, a young man named Norman Strick (Gary Sinise) who walks with a cane due to a twisted leg he suffered from a car accident as a teen, is an anti-social neo-Nazi who feels the neighborhood is going downhill.

Bingo is an outcast circus dog whom his owners pay little attention to. Their star puppy, Lauren, develops an infection so they use Bingo for their next act - The Ring of Fire. But Bingo is afraid of fire (due to the fact that he experienced it as a young puppy) and chickens out. His master (Simon Webb) gets ready to kill him, but his wife stops him and tells Bingo to start over and find a family. Bingo does so when the master's wife finally agrees to kill him when Bingo mistakes the wife's orders several times.
