Rory Elizabeth Katherine Kennedy (born December 12, 1968 in Washington D.C.) is an American documentary filmmaker and producer. She is the youngest of the eleven children of U.S. Senator Robert Francis "Bobby" Kennedy and Ethel Skakel.

Biography

Rory Kennedy est la plus jeune des onze enfants du sénateur américain Robert F. Kennedy et de sa femme Ethel Kennedy. Son père a été assassiné six mois avant sa naissance. En 1984, son frère David est mort d'une overdose de drogue, en 1997 son frère Michael d’un accident de ski. Deux ans plus tard, son cousin John F. Kennedy, Jr. est mort quand il s'est écrasé dans l'avion qu'il pilotait avec lequel il prévoyait de se rendre au mariage de Rory. La cérémonie a ensuite été reportée et tenue à une plus petite échelle deux semaines plus tard.

Rory Kennedy a épousé Mark Bailey le 2 août 1999. Ils ont deux filles (nées en 2002 et 2004) et un fils (né en 2007).

The film focuses on three stories at which Caulker and his organization facilitate fambul tok reconciliation talks. The film opens at a bonfire in Foendor, a village in Sierra Leone. A young woman named Esther declares that she was raped at the age of 12 by fifteen men. She identifies one of the men as Joseph, her uncle. Joseph admits to the rape, but says that he was forced by rebels to commit the act under threats of death. Next, a man named Sahr similarly confronts his former friend Nyumah. When rebel forces accosted the men 17 years earlier, Sahr and Nyumah were boys. The rebels attempted to force Sahr to kill his own father. When Sahr refused, the rebels forced Nyumah to severely beat Sahr and to slash the throat of Sahr's father. Nyumah and Sahr reconcile after Nyumah admits to his actions and asks for forgiveness.
