Sally Kellerman (born Sally Claire Kellerman June 2, 1937) is an American actress, activist, author, producer, singer and voice-over artist.

Kellerman's acting career spans nearly 60 years, and her role as Major Margaret "Hot Lips" O'Houlihan in Robert Altman's film M*A*S*H (1970) earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. After MASH, she appeared in a number of the director's projects: the films Brewster McCloud (1970), Welcome to L.A. (1976), The Player (1992) and Prêt-à-Porter (1994), and the short-lived anthology TV series Gun (1997). In addition to her work with Altman, Kellerman has appeared in The Outer Limits (1965), Star Trek (1966), Last of the Red Hot Lovers (1972), Back to School (1986), The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman (2006), 90210 (2008), Chemistry (2011) and Maron (2013).

At age 18 Kellerman signed a recording contract with Verve Records, but her first album (Roll With the Feelin‍ ') was not recorded until 1972. A second album, Sally, was released in 2009. Kellerman also contributed songs to the soundtracks for Brewster McCloud (1970), Lost Horizon (1973), Rafferty and the Gold Dust Twins (1975) and Boris and Natasha: The Movie (1992).

She has done commercial voice-over work for Hidden Valley Ranch salad dressing, Mercedes-Benz and Revlon. Kellerman's animation work includes The Mouse and His Child (1977), Sesame Street Presents Follow That Bird (1985), Happily Ever After (1990), Dinosaurs (1992), Unsupervised (2012) and The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange (2013). In April 2013 she released her memoir, Read My Lips: Stories of a Hollywood Life, describing her trials and tribulations in the entertainment business.

Biography

Kellerman has an older sister, Diana Dean Kellerman; her younger sister, Victoria Vaughn (Vicky) Kellerman, died in infancy. Her mother was a Christian Scientist from Portland, Arkansas, and her father was from St. Louis, Missouri. When Kellerman was in fifth grade, the family moved to San Fernando, California.
During the 1960s Kellerman underwent a botched home abortion, and went to a hospital for the first time (due to her Christian Science upbringing).

After the release of MASH, on December 17, 1970 Kellerman married Starsky & Hutch producer Rick Edelstein. Anjanette Comer, Morgan Ames, Lisabeth Hush, Joanne Linville and Launa Anders were among her bridesmaids.

On March 6, 1972 Kellerman divorced Edelstein, citing irreconcilable differences. After the divorce Kellerman adopted her niece, Claire. Claire was the daughter of Kellerman's sister, Diana. When Diana moved to southern France, she left Claire in the care of Kellerman and Claire's father; when Claire's father died, Kellerman received full custody.

On May 11, 1980, Kellerman married Jonathan D. Krane in a private ceremony at Jennifer Jones' Malibu home. In 1989, they adopted newborn twins Jack and Hannah.

After having left their own world due to a loss of natural resources, the winged humanoid Nohrin settle on Jhamora with the permission of the ground-dwelling Lokni. But some of the Nohrin, led by would-be conqueror Sedessa, believe in the superiority of their own race and try to take land away from the Lokni. The parents of Delgo, a Lokni, are killed in the resulting conflict. Nohrin King Zahn is horrified by the war and admonishes Sedessa, who then poisons the Queen and almost kills Zahn as well. She is subsequently banished, and her wings are clipped off. Delgo, meanwhile, is raised by Elder Marley, who tries to teach him how to use the power of magical stones. Once Delgo grows up, however, he gives in to his desire for revenge against the Nohrin as a whole. But then he meets Princess Kyla of the Nohrin and develops a tentative friendship with her. When she is kidnapped by Nohrin General Raius, who is actually working for Sedessa, Delgo and his friend Filo are blamed and arrested. In the Nohrin prison, Delgo meets Nohrin General Bogardus, who was forced to illegally gamble with his weapons by Raius, because Bogardus opposed an all out war with the Lokni. Delgo, Filo, and Bogardus escape into some underground caverns and eventually reach Sedessa's stronghold and rescue Kyla. Together they hurry back to try to stop the war from taking place. They are too late, for the war has already begun. Bogardus meanwhile fights and defeats Raius, but is soon after mortally injured.

The movie opens showing super star Eddie Tudor (Cole Sprouse) on the red carpet at the premiere of one of his films. Tom Canty (Dylan Sprouse) watches it on TV and imitates Eddie (he mimics him by saying his catchphrase "Oh yeah!"), when his grandpa, 'Pop' (Ed Lauter), calls him to get ready for school. At school, the principal asks what his ambition is in life, and, Tom replies he wants to be Eddie Tudor. The principal then advises him to join the acting classes (which Pop doesn't allow him to do). He has lived with Pop since his parents died, a couple of years earlier. From a young age, his ambition has been to become an actor, partly inspired by the stories of fame and appeal of acting conveyed to him by his neighbour and best friend, Miles (Vincent Spano) who is a former actor and who also happens to be the father of Eddie Tudor (revealed at the end of the film). Miles has known Tom since he was a little kid, when Miles moved to the area, after quitting showbiz and he often tells Tom about the times when he was a star, although not revealing much as to how he lost his fame. Now 14, the same age as Eddie Tudor whom he looks exactly like, he wishes that he really is Eddie and gets frustrated with his Pop's persistent pushing for Tom to forget about the acting, and telling him to do 'real work', like helping him with his business, when Tom is not at school. He says he only pushes Tom because he cares about him. Miles, however, supports Tom with his acting ambition, but warns him that it is a tough business to get into and survive in.
