Samuel Emmett "Sam" Horrigan (born August 23, 1981) is an American actor best known for his role as Val Horrigan from Brink! and Spike Hammersmith from Little Giants.
He has also made guest appearances on TV shows such as One Tree Hill, Joan of Arcadia, Desperate Housewives, Still Standing, Grounded for Life, 8 Simple Rules, and Veronica Mars where he played a guy named Pop. Also appeared in Accepted as one of the Fraternity Brothers. He played Val in the 1998 Disney Channel Original Movie Brink!. In 1995, he played Xander in the remake of Escape to Witch Mountain. Sam was a contestant in the fourth series of the TV show Beauty and the Geek as the show's first male beauty, which caused some controversy due to his previous experience in the media.

Always struggling in life and love, Hillary Burns (Bonnie Somerville) constantly feels the pressure to marry from her demanding mother, Meredith (Shelley Long). Bartleby Gaines (Justin Long) is a persuasive senior from William McKinley High School in Wickliffe, Ohio, who, among other pranks, creates fake IDs. His gifts do not extend to grades, however, and he receives rejection letters from all of the colleges to which he applies, including those with high acceptance rates. In an attempt to gain approval from his strict father (Mark Derwin), Bartleby creates a fake college, the South Harmon Institute of Technology (S.H.I.T.). His best friend, Sherman Schrader III (Jonah Hill), who has been accepted into his father's prestigious alma mater Harmon College, aids Bartleby and fellow rejects Rory Thayer (Maria Thayer), who only applied to Yale University; Hands Holloway (Columbus Short), who lost his athletic scholarship after an injury; and Glen (Adam Herschman), who failed his SAT exam. To make the "college" seem legitimate, Bartleby convinces Sherman to create a functional website for the school.

Timmy Gleason (Macaulay Culkin) is the estranged son of ex-con Ray Gleason (Ted Danson) and has been living with his aunt Kitty and her fiancee since the death of his mother some years earlier. When Kitty goes on honeymoon, she dumps Timmy on a reluctant Ray, leaving him to look after his son for the next week. Timmy is hoping to spend time with his father, but is largely ignored by Ray, who is the midst of planning a rare coin heist with his two cronies Bobby and Carl (Saul Rubinek and Gailard Sartain). The robbery is successful, but Timmy learns of it and hides the stolen coins from them. Danny O'Shea (Rick Moranis) has always lived in the shadow of his older brother, Kevin (Ed O'Neill), a Heisman Trophy winner and a local football hero. The brothers live in their hometown of Urbania, Ohio. Kevin coaches the local "Pee-Wee Cowboys" football team.
