Samia Maxine Ghadie (previously Smith; born 13 July 1982) is an English actress. She is best known for playing the role of Maria Connor in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street since 2000.
Ghadie's father, Joseph, died of cancer on 14 April 2009.

Biography
Ghadie married Matt Smith (Not to be confused with Doctor Who actor Matt Smith), a property developer, in St Philip's Church in Alderley Edge, Cheshire on 10 September 2005 after a seven-month engagement. On 19 October 2009, she gave birth to a baby girl, Freya Ghadie temporarily left Coronation Street to go on maternity leave. On 4 January 2011, Ghadie and her husband announced that they have separated by mutual agreement and decision. On 4 November 2011, it was revealed that she had reverted to her maiden name of Ghadie following her decree absolute which was granted the same day. In May 2015, she announced her engagement to French professional ice skater Sylvain Longchambon. Their son, Yves Joseph Longchambon, was born on 24 September 2015.Ghadie's father, Joseph, died of cancer on 14 April 2009.

Jimmy Grimble (Lewis McKenzie) is a 15-year-old misfit living in Manchester, where nothing seems to go his way. Jimmy is constantly threatened by the school bully, "Gorgeous" Gordon (Bobby Power); he is also not sure what to make of Johnny (Ben Miller), a lost-in-the-ozone biker who is dating Donna (Gina McKee), Jimmy's mum; and he has a crush on one of his classmates, Sara (Samia Smith), who seems to like him, but his powers of speech invariably fail him when he tries to talk to her. Like most Mancunians, Jimmy loves football. He is a fervent supporter of Manchester City and attends home games with Donna's ex-boyfriend, Harry (Ray Winstone). Jimmy also loves to play football, but while Eric (Robert Carlyle), the coach of his school's team, thinks he has potential, "Gorgeous" is already a skilled player, and when Gordon's father informs the school he will make a large and much-needed donation if their team makes it to the Manchester Schools Cup final, it looks like Jimmy will be on the bench for a while. But when an old woman gives Jimmy a pair of boots that once belonged to one of City's greatest players, his skills on the field begin to change.
