Salt-n-Pepa se sépare en 2002 quelques mois après la publication de leur album Brand New au label Red Ant Records. Salt se dit, à cette période, prête à quitter l'industrie musicale. Le trio se réunit pour une performance au Hip Hop Honors diffusé sur la chaîne américain VH1 le 22 septembre 2005.
En 2005, Pepa participe au casting de la cinquième saison de The Surreal Life sur VH1. Pepa participe aussi au film Bienvenue chez Joe, à 'Taxis pour cible, et joue le rôle d'Andrea Phelan dans la série américaine Oz. Elle joue aussi dans The Surreal Life: Fame Games. Salt-n-Pepa se réunit en 2008, et lancent une émission de télévision sur VH1 appelée The Salt-N-Pepa Show. En août 2008, Pepa publie son autobiographie, aussi intitulée Let's Talk About Pep. Elle est coécrite par Karen Hunter, et parle de sa gloire, de la famille, des échecs et des succès de sa vie.

Fin Shepard and his ex-wife April Wexler are flying to New York City to promote How to Survive a Sharknado and Other Unnatural Disasters, a book April has written about the Los Angeles sharknado. As the plane comes in for a landing through a storm, it is battered by airborne sharks, losing an engine. Sharks enter the plane, killing passengers and crew, including both pilots. While Fin successfully lands the plane, April's hand is bitten off by a shark while she attempts to shoot it with an air marshal's handgun.

Penniless and straight out of the University of Iowa, Joe (Jerry O'Connell) moves to New York needing an apartment and a job. The film's primary protagonists are Roy Knable (John Ritter), a couch potato, struggling Seattle plumbing salesman and former fencing athlete, and his neglected wife Helen (Pam Dawber), a senior vitamin product manager. After a fight (which involved Helen smashing the family television screen with one of Roy's fencing trophies as a wake-up call to reality), Mr. Spike (Jeffrey Jones) appears at the couples' door, offering him a new high tech satellite dish system filled with 666 channels of programs one cannot view on the four big networks (CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox). What Roy doesn't know is that Spike (later referred to as "Mephistopheles of the Cathode Ray") is an emissary from hell who wants to boost the influx of souls by arranging for TV junkies to be killed in the most gruesome and ironic situations imaginable. The 'candidates' are sucked into a hellish television world, called Hell Vision, and put through a gauntlet where they must survive a number of satirical versions of sitcoms and movies. If they can survive for 24 hours they are free to go but if they get killed then their souls will become the property of Satan (the latter usually happens).
