On Broadway, he has been in Fiddler on the Roof and Beauty and the Beast. He is also a member of The Broadway Kids and the Nautical Stars Theater Company.

Charlotte Field est la Secrétaire d'État des États-Unis. Lors d'une soirée, cette femme sophistiquée et brillante retrouve Fred Flarsky, un journaliste politique sans filtre dont elle était jadis la baby-sitter. Fred n'est pas la personne la plus classe et son allure débraillée, son humour et son franc-parler détonnent dans l’entourage très codifié de Charlotte. Elle constate malgré qu'il a une belle « plume » et l'humour nécessaire pour écrire ses discours. Fred tente d'en apprendre davantage sur elle et ils se rapprochent de plus en plus. Ils deviennent plus que des collègues ou de simples amis. Mais cette relation amoureuse intervient alors que Charlotte porte un énorme projet écologique et qu'elle souhaite porter sa candidature à l'élection présidentielle.

In the future, robots known as Sentinels are exterminating mutants and their human allies. A band of mutants, including Kitty Pryde, Colossus, Iceman, Bishop, Warpath, Blink and Sunspot, evade the Sentinels due to Pryde's ability to send a person's consciousness to the past. Pryde's group convenes with Logan, Storm, Professor Charles Xavier, and Erik Lehnsherr at a monastery in China. Pryde sends Logan's consciousness 50 years back in time to 1973 to prevent Mystique from assassinating Dr. Bolivar Trask, creator of the Sentinels. Following the assassination, Mystique was captured, and her DNA was used by Trask's company to improve the Sentinels, whose ability to adapt to any mutant power makes them almost invincible. Xavier and Lehnsherr advise Logan to find both of their younger selves for help.

In a short prelude, U.S. Army General Hopgood (Stephen Lang) is painfully thwarted in an attempt to pass paranormally through a solid wall by simply running into it. The film then follows Ann Arbor Daily Telegram reporter Bob Wilton (Ewan McGregor), whose wife leaves him for the newspaper's editor. Seeking an escape, Bob flies to Kuwait to report on the Iraq War and to prove to his wife and himself that he is a man. However, he stumbles onto the story of a lifetime when he meets a retired U.S. Army Special Forces operator, Lyn Cassady (George Clooney), who reveals that he was part of a U.S. Army unit training psychic spies (or "Jedi Warriors") to develop a range of parapsychological skills including invisibility, remote viewing, and phasing. The back story is told mainly through flashbacks.

Dwight Arno (Ruffalo) is an attorney who is divorced from his wife Ruth (Sorvino). Ruth controls custody of their son Lucas (Alderson) while Dwight maintains visitation rights. Dwight and Lucas are at a baseball game when Ruth calls, informing Dwight that he is late returning their son home. Dwight drives Lucas home in a hurry, thinking he might otherwise forfeit his visitation privileges. When he loses control of his vehicle, he strikes a young boy, Josh Learner (Curley), who is standing by the roadside.
