At a remote construction site in Latin America, an American developer named Jekhide attempts to build a resort, however the site is attacked by a mysterious force, causing several workers to get trapped underground. One of the worker's daughters Mia has a premonition. So after saying a few words of parting at her mother's grave, she sets out on a journey across mountains and jungles to search for her father. She goes to a witch who shows her the way and along the way she meets and befriends a tribe of giant called the Migoos.

Léo, 11 ans, est un jeune adolescent qui vit à New York de nos jours. La vie n'est pas drôle pour lui : il est hospitalisé à cause d'une maladie. Il découvre alors qu'il possède un pouvoir extraordinaire : celui de laisser son enveloppe humaine endormie et laisser son « âme » planer dans le ciel sous une forme immatérielle, invisible et impalpable, tandis que son corps physique reste endormi. Sous cette forme, il peut aller partout et même traverser les murs. Au même moment, Alex, un policier, se trouve hospitalisé dans le même hôpital après s'être cassé la jambe (acte de l'homme au visage cassé) ; cela ne l'arrange pas du tout, car il se trouvait sur la trace de bandit dont le surnom est la seule information que l'on possède sur lui, qui projette de prendre le contrôle de la ville à l'aide d'un virus informatique se propageant dans tous les ordinateurs de la ville dans les vingt-quatre prochaines heures. Léo et Alex vont alors s'allier pour sauver la ville, le tout en moins d'une journée.

Le film se déroule à Beaumont-les-Vignes, une commune fictive du sud-est de la France, dans un avenir proche. Deux sœurs, tante Hilda et Dolorès, ont suivi des parcours diamétralement opposés. Hilda, une jeune femme rousse à la silhouette dégingandée, est farouchement écologiste : elle se déplace à bicyclette, se préoccupe constamment de la préservation de l'environnement et a rassemblé un musée végétal où elle conserve toutes sortes de plantes. Dolorès, elle, est devenue la PDG sans scrupules d'une entreprise multinationale de l'agroalimentaire recherchant le profit à court terme. Grâce à la technologie des OGM, qui consiste à modifier génétiquement les plantes, Dolorès a mis au point une nouvelle céréale, baptisée Attilem, une sorte d'artichaut géant doté de tentacules. Ce nouveau produit, capable de pousser avec très peu d'eau et sans engrais, qui devrait lui rapporter des bénéfices astronomiques. Elle affirme même qu'il pourrait résoudre le problème de la faim dans le monde et remplacer le pétrole comme nouvelle source d'énergie. Mais bientôt, les plantes Attilem commencent à pousser trop vite, hors de tout contrôle, et envahissent le monde entier. Dolorès fait alors concevoir un pesticide qu'elle se propose de vendre aux gouvernements pour lutter contre la catastrophe qu'elle a elle-même provoquée. Tante Hilda ne l'entend pas de cette oreille et entreprend de sauver le monde, mais la partie n'est pas gagnée d'avance.

The film is set in Beaumont-les-Vignes, a fictional town in south-eastern France in the near future. Two sisters, Hilda and aunt Dolores, followed diametrically opposite course. Hilda, a young redhead at the lanky silhouette, environmentalist fiercely: it moves a bicycle, is always concerned about the preservation of the environment and gathered a plant museum where she keeps all kinds of plants. Dolores, she became the ruthless CEO of a multinational company in the food seeking profits in the short term. Thanks to the GMO technology that involves genetically modifying plants, Dolores has developed a new cereal called Attilem, a kind of giant artichoke with tentacles. This new product, able to grow with very little water and no fertilizer, which should bring him astronomical profits. She says even he could solve the problem of hunger in the world and replace oil as a new source of energy. But soon the Attilem plants begin to grow too fast, out of control, and invade the world. Dolores is then design a pesticide it proposes to sell to governments to fight against the disaster that it has itself provoked. Aunt Hilda does not hear it that way and began to save the world, but the game is not won.

Standing next to a water reservoir in a monastery enclave, a monk sees a fish and goes to get his net to catch it. The fish eludes him and the monk gets rather agitated as he tries increasingly extreme ways of catching the fish. He gets into the pond himself, and enlists the help of other monks; he tries candles, and a bow and arrow to no avail. The more the fish manages to evade him, the more obsessed the monk gets. He follows the fish out of the pond into a canal, through different landscapes and out of the confines of the monastery. Eventually the chase gets less frantic and the monk and the fish move in harmony. They float through a door into the open space and drift off into the sky together.
