Sergei Yurievich Yursky (Russian: Серге́й Ю́рьевич Ю́рский, March 16, 1935, Leningrad, USSR) is a Soviet/Russian stage and film actor, theatre director and screenwriter. His most notable role in the cinema is Ostap Bender in The Little Golden Calf.
In 1959 he graduated from A. N. Ostrovsky Leningrad Theatrical Institute, L. F. Makarev's course.
From 1957 till 1979 he was one of the leading actors of Gorky Bolshoi Drama Theater in Leningrad. The leading part in Wit Works Woe (1962) by Alexander Griboedov made him one of the most significant actors of his generation. His director's debut "Moliere" by Michail Bulgakov in 1977 was highly acclaimed, but was not accepted by Georgy Tovstonogov, and led to Yursky's departure from the theatre
Since 1979 - an actor and director of Mossovet Theater in Moscow. Also worked as an actor and director in Moscow Art Theatre, as well as in Belgium, France and Japan.
Yursky performs one-man recitals of poetry and prose, touring widely with them in USSR, then Russia and since the 1990s many countries with Russian-speaking population.

Nous sommes en 1949 au Kazakhstan alors que l'URSS s'apprête à fêter les 70 ans de Joseph Staline. Ce qui n'empêche pas la répression et les déportations d'opposants de continuer. Dans un train de déportés vers le Kazakhstan meurt un vieil homme juif. Son petit-fils Sacha s'échappe du train aux côtés de sa dépouille, dissimulé parmi les cadavres. Il est recueilli par Kasym, un vieux garde-voie kazakh qui, pour le dissimuler aux yeux des autorités, le renomme Sabyr. The film is set in post-WWII Moscow. Lieutenant Vladimir Sharapov (Vladimir Konkin) is a young reconnaissance officer and a decorated war hero who has just returned from the war and is assigned to peacetime service with the famous MUR (Moscow Department of Criminal Investigations). There he becomes part of an elite detective team led by the brilliant, tough, no-nonsense Captain Gleb Zheglov (Vysotsky).
