Le roi et sorcier Kans règne en tyran sur le royaume de Mathura et ambitionne de conquérir le monde. Pour mettre fin à son règne sanguinaire, les dieux décident d'incarner sur Terre Vishnu, qui naît sous la forme de Krishna, fils de Devaki, la sœur de Kans. Le bébé, neveu du tyran, vient au monde dans le village de Vrindavan, où il est adopté par le chef du village, Nanda, qui l'élève au même titre que son propre fils un peu plus âgé, Balram. Krishna grandit dans la bonne humeur et devient un petit garçon facétieux, qui en fait voir de toutes les couleurs à sa mère et est toujours prêt à jouer un tour aux gopis, les gardiennes de vaches qui le surveillent. Mais il se signale très tôt par ses exploits miraculeux, et la musique de sa flûte charme hommes et bêtes. Krishna se lie surtout avec une petite fille de son âge, Radha (sa future épouse dans la mythologie hindoue), mais se lie aussi d'amitié plusieurs garçons, dont Madhumangal. Il peut aussi compter sur l'aide du singe Dabiloba et de l'agnelle Hamsi. Krishna doit bientôt venir en aide aux gens du royaume et affronter les périls surnaturels que lui envoie Kans, principalement les démons Trinavarta, Bakasur et Putna. Mais, voyant Krishna vaincre sans peine chacun de ses envoyés, Kans finit par le défier en duel dans le colisée de sa capitale. Plusieurs chansons ponctuent le film.

A humanoid alien (Aamir Khan) lands on Earth naked on a research mission in Rajasthan, but is stranded when the remote control of his spaceship is stolen, though he manages to get the thief's cassette recorder, a National Panasonic RQ-565D. Living in a middle class orthodox family of Old Hyderabad, Bilqis Ahmed aka Bobby (Vidya Balan) is a wannabe private detective. To pursue her passion of spying, Bobby solves petty neighbourhood cases. Such as helping Tasawur (Ali Fazal) a TV show host, to get rid of marriage proposals brought home by his parents. Bobby finally gets her big break when a rich NRI Anees Khan (Kiran Kumar) hands her a case of finding two missing girls named 'Nilofer' and 'Amna' with a birth mark on their hand and shoulder, respectively. To solve the case, Bobby takes up many get-ups such as 'beggar', 'peon', 'hawker', 'nerd student', 'astrologer' and even a fake ' TV producer'. After locating the targets, Khan pays her a tremendous fee and also offers huge amount of money to both girl's fathers for reasons unknown to Bobby. Shivani Shivaji Roy, a dedicated and brave police officer with Mumbai Police, chases a Delhi-based kingpin, Karan Rastogi, who runs an organised crime cartel involving child trafficking and drugs. Her aim is to hunt him down and rescue a teenage girl, Pyaari. Pyaari is an orphan who is kidnapped by Karan's men. Shivani had saved Pyaari from being sold by her uncle and started taking care of her, and since then Pyaari is like a daughter to her. She takes the task more personally and goes beyond her legal rights and duties to nab Karan and save Pyaari. Karan, aware that Shivani is continually monitoring his cartel's activities, phones her, suggesting she not interrupt his business. Determined to catch him, Shivani uses intelligence inputs to track down his associate in Mumbai, who leads her to Karan's close aide, Wakeel, in Delhi. Karan, as a warning to Shivani, dismembers one of Pyaari's fingers and sends it to Shivani's house wrapped in a gift box, and gets Shivani's husband abused and thrashed.

Inkaar is the love story of Maya Luthra (Chitrangada Singh) and Rahul Verma (Arjun Rampal) set against the backdrop of sexual harassment. When misunderstandings are created between the two lovers Maya and her mentor Rahul, she files a case of sexual harassment against him. A committee is set up by the advertising agency they work in to investigate their case and find out the truth. Rahul denies that he ever had any such intentions to sexually harass Maya, but she insists that he makes her feel insecure and unsafe in her own office. The committee is unable to reach a clear conclusion as they do not know who to believe. The climax of the film brings an unexpected twist to the story, and in a final confrontation the two protagonists' love emerges victorious.
