Showtaro Morikubo (森久保 祥太郎, Morikubo Shōtarō, born February 25, 1974) is a Japanese voice actor and singer who has voiced characters in anime, drama CDs, and video games. According to the Anime News Network and as of July 8, 2006, Morikubo has about 55 voice role credits under his name. He is currently affiliated with VIMS. He was formerly affiliated with I'm Enterprise.
He was born in Hachiōji, Tokyo. Morikubo dropped out of Tama Art University. He has released song singles, a CD album and a concert DVD.
On February 22, 2007, Morikubo married fellow voice actress Yū Asakawa. However, Asakawa announced in her January 14, 2009 blog entry that the two have divorced.

Éclair (エクレア, Ekurea), a priestess from Fire Village, escapes a raid from an invading army with one of her village's two mystical Phoenix Stones in her possession, but loses consciousness. Naruto Uzumaki and his Hidden Leaf peers track and drive off members of the Akatsuki who should no longer be alive. While his friends are praised by their families, Naruto wallows in loneliness before he is taken by Sakura Haruno to the park to hear her complain about her parents. However, Naruto revealed to have been tagged by the Akatsuki, the two are ambushed by Tobi as he uses the Limited Tsukuyomi (限定月読, Gentei Tsukuyomi) to transport them into an alternate reality based on their inner thoughts. Being called Menma (メンマ), Naruto and Sakura are surprised to find their friends acting the exact opposite of their usual selves along with a flirty Sasuke who never left the village. While Sakura learns that her parents are dead with her father as the reality's Fourth Hokage, Naruto sees his parents, Minato and Kushina, alive and well. Shortly after, Naruto and Sakura participate in a mission to retrieve a Red Moon scroll which details on how to defeat a mysterious masked ninja. During the mission, Kushina is injured when she protects Naruto and dissuades the youth's refusal to bond with his parents.

Naruto Uzumaki is arrested to the criminal containment facility known as Hoozuki Jou (鬼灯城, lit. "Physalis Castle") in the Hidden Grass Village, after he is declared responsible for attacking the Fourth Raikage and the members of Jōnin from the Hidden Mist and Rock Village. There, Mui (無為), the head of the prison, places the Tenrou o Tsukau (天牢を使う, lit. "Sky Prison Control") seal on Naruto which limits his chakra. On the first night, Naruto uses a clone as a decoy to escape from prison, but his clone is secretly taken by Mui to have the Nine-tailed beast's chakra extracted which leads him to the real Naruto, and he is shortly recaptured and placed in solitary confinement, before delaying Mui's plans.

The film opens with a battle taking place at night on a desolate seaside beach between Sand Ninja and mysterious warriors wearing bulky suits of armor. Despite their best efforts, the Sand Ninja are slowly overwhelmed by the sheer strength of their mysterious opponents. The timely arrival of reinforcements led by Kankuro and Gaara turns the tide, with Kankuro slicing apart a suit of armor with his puppet, and Gaara dispatching a large number of enemies en masse with his signature Desert Imperial Funeral. However, when Gaara orders the Sand Ninja to shine a flare at the retreating enemies, a large warship appears.
