She is born to Sudhakaran (s/o of Kesavan Contractor) and Vasundara on 26 June 1975 at Thiruvananthapuram. Her father was working in Muscat and mother was a school teacher. She had her primary education from Al-Uthuman Higher Secondary School, Kazhakoottam, Trivandrum where her mother was a teacher. She pursued degree from Govt. College for Women, Thiruvananthapuram.She is married to Malayalam movie cameraman Udayan Ambadi on 1996. They have no children.

It is a hundred years since Charlie Chaplin, artist nonpareil, appeared on the silver screen mesmerising audiences across the globe. His signature moustache and derby that have left their indelible imprint on the annals of film history. Buddhanum Chaplinum Chirikkunnu is a film that pays homage to Chaplin at the centennial commemoration of his acting career. The film portrays an Indian comedian, Indragupthan, who idolises Chaplin. He believes his life resembles Chaplin's and nurtures the desire to depict his hero on the big screen. However, he rules out a blind imitation of the late legend. The narrative revolves around his disintegrating family life and his quest for true love. The dilemma that ensues is the crux of the story. In the struggle to discover himself Indragupthan is entrapped in a world of make belief. The film is a unique marriage of the serious and the comic - one complementing the other. Indragupthan realises finally that the wheel of life has left him stranded in the twilight zone between real and unreal.

The story revolves around a widowed father and son working as scavengers and the harsh life they face. The duo belongs to a section of society who are marginalized in the mainstream. Father is working as a temporary cleaning sweeper. Chami is his friend and fellow worker who belongs to a tribal community. They collect the garbage from the city streets into a vehicle and dumps at a rural village. Sometimes father takes his son along with him. Omanakuttan (Mukesh), is a Bank Manager by profession. But he is very interested stage plays and he himself has directed and acted in many plays. He is approached by a film crew from town headed by Pavan (Suraj Venjaramoodu), to produce their debut venture. Omanakuttan who is a cinema aspirant, agrees to finance the film after he was offered the lead role. Eventually, he learns that neither Pavanan nor his associates know anything about film making. Omanakuttan decides himself to script and direct the film. He completes the film successfully with a limited cast but fails to find a distributor. To find a distributor, Omanakuttan goes to Chennai but fate had something else planned for him there. His bag gets stolen and while chasing the thief, he gets hit by a car. Fortunately the car was that of an accomplished film producer and distributor (Siddhiq). After hearing the story of Omanakuttan, he decides to distribute the film, which became a super hit in the box office.
