Sonu Walia (born 19 February 1964) is a Bollywood actress, winner of Miss India pageant and model. A psychology graduate and a student of journalism, Walia took up modelling before she entered the Miss India contest.

Biography

She was married to Surya Prakash, after the death of Surya Prakash, she married film producer Pratap Singh an NRI based in the US who was an Indian film producer. They have a daughter. She shuttles between India and US.

She is 5'8" tall. Walia has a younger sister.

Vikram Rai (Mangal Dhillon) is a talented singer, unknown however in the singing world. Kalpana (Sonu Walia), the daughter of Kailashnath Sahai (Ajit Vachani) who is the owner of a singing company, is however won over by his singing and marries him against her father's wishes. They have a son whom they name Yash (Bijay Anand). As time passes Kalpana realises that she has married the wrong man. She leaves her husband and son and returns to her father's house. Kalpana's desertion is a real challenge for Vikram and after sending Yash to a hostel, he works hard and eventually becomes the owner of a company. Yash turns out to be a handsome young man in love with a girl, Angel (Kartika Rane), who is the daughter of a music teacher. Yash now feels rejected by both his parents - his mother who is more in love with money and his father who has fallen in love with Asha (Natasha Sinha). After taking training in music from Mr. Joseph, he becomes pop singer and gets a lot of fame. Seeing this his mother and grandfather wish to bring him into their company, but he refuses. In order to take revenge, Kailashnath destroys Vikram. When Yash learns of this, he comes to his father's help. Is Yash able to re-establish his father? Was he able to bring his parents together? Varsha has been brought up in an orthodox Hindu family, and has been taught to treat her husband as her God. When she marries influential politician, Bittu Singh, she decides to be the ideal Hindu wife and becomes his shadow, bowing down to his every command. When the time for election comes, Bittu prepares himself for an election in which he may become the Chief Minister of the State, while a pregnant Varsha prepares herself for mother-hood. When Bittu asks Varsha to accompany him to one of his speeches, she agrees to do so. On the way there they are attacked, their driver is killed, Bittu and Varsha are assaulted, and as a result loses her child. Bittu wins the elections and becomes the State's new Chief Minister, leaving Varsha in hospital to deal with her loss and mental agony. When Varsha recovers, she returns to Bittu, who now resides in a palatial home, and once she settles down, she demands that he bring their assailants to justice. A man named Shiva is arrested, he confesses, and is sentenced to several years in jail. Then Varsha meets with a young journalist named Sanjay, and it is this meeting that will change her life and her way of thinking forever, as well as bring her face to face with the very people who were responsible for the loss of her child.

Young Krishna is driven out of the house by his uncle Sajhan (Paresh Rawal) after his father Narayan Srivastav dies. Krishna goes to live with his school-teacher Saraswati Devi (Raakhee), who has two children, Suraj & Jyoti, of her own. Sajhan's tactics separates Suraj from his family, and assuming he is dead Saraswati looks after Krishna and Jyoti. Time flies and Krishna(now played by Anil Kapoor) falls in love with his college friend Madhu (Madhuri Dixit). Sajhan's son Raghu (Tej Sapru) turns to become a local goonda, protected by his dad by bribing the local police. Jyoti is raped and murdered by Raghu and his pals, and they also run over Saraswati rendering her crippled. Both Krishna and Saraswati swear to avenge Jyoti's death. Then Suraj (Mohsin Khan) re-enters their lives, as a police inspector, and is bent on arresting Krishna by hook or by crook, casting doubts whether he is or not on the pay-roll of Sajhan.
