Stathis Giallelis (Greek: Στάθης Γιαλελής; born January 21, 1941) is a Greek actor. He won brief international renown in the early 1960s as the star of Elia Kazan's Academy Award-nominated epic America, America, a role which brought him the Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year – Actor, as well as a nomination for Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama.

Dans un camp de prisonniers politiques sur une île déserte, les gardiens humilient et torturent les prisonniers. L'un d'entre eux, B., refuse de signer ses « aveux » et son « repentir ». Il est battu à mort et son corps est jeté à la mer. Il s'agit de le faire disparaître, juste avant la visite de la « grande-mère », la reine du pays. La cause de son décès est attribuée à un suicide. B. n'est cependant pas mort. Il revient sur l'île à la nage et se cache. Alors que la reine s'annonce, il est découvert et abattu immédiatement par les gardiens, puisqu'il est déjà officiellement mort. Un autre détenu, qui s'était lui repenti, découvre le corps, attaché à un poteau dans la mer. Il l'embrasse sur la bouche, reprenant ainsi espoir pour continuer la lutte.

The year is 1880. Mexican bandit and revolutionary Ortega (Ricardo Montalban) has three sons, Xavier (Carlos East), Manuel (Stathis Giallelis) and Antonio (Robert Lipton), as well as one adopted son, Azul (Terence Stamp), which means "Blue." the color of the young man's eyes. While attacking Texas settlers, Antonio is fatally shot while Azul, feeling pity for one of the settler women, Joanne (Joanna Pettet), whom Manuel is about to rape, puts a deadly bullet into Manuel, as he is shot, himself, by one of the settlers.
