Talluri Rameshwari (also known as Rameshwari) is an Indian actress. She was born and raised in Andhra Pradesh and spent her childhood in Kakinada. She is the younger of two sisters and has no brothers. Her elder sister's name is Krishna Kumari. She also acted in one of the Telugu movies. They used to live in Munsiff street, near 2-Town police station, Surya rao peta, Kakinada. She studied 1st standard to 5th standard in City Aided Elementary School. She studied from 6th to 10th standard in Municipal Girl's High School, Temple street. During that time they shifted their residence to 50 buildings area, Kakinada. She used to be so beautiful in her childhood as well as in her adolescence, resembling the veteran Hindi actress Rajshree ( V. Shantaram's daughter). She grew up speaking Telugu. She attended and graduated from FTII in 1975. She became very popular and still remains popular for her two hit Hindi films: Dulhan Wahi Jo Piya Man Bhaye (1977) and Aasha (1980), the latter earned her a Filmfare Nomination as Best Supporting Actress. She played the most loved character Seetalu, in the hit film Seetamalakshmi (1978) directed by K.Vishwanath for which she received the Nandi Award for Best actress. Her credits include several other movies include Sunayana, Mera Rakshak, Sharda and others. She also worked in several films in other languages (Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Oriya, Bhojpuri). She is not a career savvy individual and never really pushed hard to reach her potential. She is very close and remains close to her family. She married her FTII class mate and pal, Punjabi actor-producer, Deepak Seth and has two sons Bhaskara Pratap Seth and Surya Prem Seth. She took a sabbatical from acting to raise her children, but recently returned to acting in films, playing mature roles. She and her husband produced a Hindi film titled "Hun Farishte Nahin" (1988) and a Punjabi film titled Mein tuun assin tussin (2007) based on the Shakespeare play The Comedy of Errors. Lately she has been working in television series.

Sidda Reddy (Jaya Prakash Reddy) is a powerful mafia leader whose right hand is Devudu (Gopichand). Devudu has a lover called Malli (Raasi). Reddy - who also like Malli - takes her to the bed, which is not liked by Devudu. In the process, Devudu kills Reddy and he becomes the leader of the mafia gang. Venkateswarlu (Ranganath) is a fire officer. In an incident, Devudu sets a marketplace a fire and Venkateswarlu rescues it with his firefighting and at the same time Venkateswarlu slaps Devudu, as he continues throwing Kerosene at the marketplace. Devudu holds a grudge against Venkateswarlu and sends him to jail on a framed charge of murder. Seetaram (Mahesh Babu) who is the son of Venkateswarlu tries to rescue his father from the jaws of police. But in the process, everybody starts asking him for money to do the work. At the end of the day, the police officer kills Venkateswarlu. The rest of the story is about how Seetaram's mother (Talluri Rameswari) takes revenge on the people responsible for the death of her husband with the help of her son Seetaram. The criminals involved in the crime of his father's death are killed one after the other by the mother and the son in a planned and scientific manner. This film tells about an innocent boy, who along with his mother undergoes injustice and also loses his father in this process. The mother in this situation plays the role of a trainer and a guide to her son, making him strong physically and emotionally, to fight back.

Vishnupratap Singh (Vikram Gokhale) is celebrating his 60th birthday in his village with his wife (Farida Jalal). At the behest of his wife, Vishnu Pratap calls his estranged son's family from Bombay for the event. Their grandson, Abhay (Fardeen Khan), arrives with his mother and sister to the village, and is initially greeted with animosity. Sati Gujaral is a music teacher in a school for Tibetan children run by the Tibetan government-in-exile and her husband Gopi Gujaral is a doctor in a government hospital. Deepak (Jeetendra) is a truckdriver who gives a lift to a famous singer Aasha (Reena Roy) when her vehicle breaks down. They become friends. He is already in love with Mala (Rameshwari), whom he marries. Aasha wishes him well calling him "dost" (friend), even though she has fallen in love with him. Deepak has an accident, and everyone believes that he is dead. His grieving mother tells a pregnant Mala to go away. Mala goes home to her father, but he dies. Upset with everything in her life, she jumps from a bridge into the water. She is saved by members of a temple community but finds that she lost her sight. She gives birth and names her daughter Deepamala, combining her and her husband's names. Her husband turns out to be alive. He comes home and finds his mother overjoyed to see him. She tells him that Mala had committed suicide. He becomes depressed. Aasha re-enters his life and helps him overcome his depression. They get engaged. They become acquainted with Deepamala, now a little girl, selling little God's statutes on the street. They are completely enchanted by her, even though they don't know that she is really Deepak's daughter. Aasha meets Mala and tells her they'll pay for her eye operation, so she can regain her sight. Aasha also invites her and Deepamala to the wedding. After she regains her sight from the operation, she goes to Aasha's wedding and is shocked to see Deepak. She quickly leaves, not wanting to disrupt Aasha and Deepak's lives. Mala's friend (Girish Karnad) tells Deepak that Mala is still alive and that Deepamala is actually his daughter. Aasha cancels the wedding and calls him "dost" (friend) and tells him to go and reunite with his wife and daughter, which he does. Aasha goes back on stage permanently to sing her signature song "Shisha Ho Ya Dil Ho, Aakhir Toot Jata Hai," which translates into "Whether it's glass or a heart, it will inevitably break.
