When their youth centre is threatened with closure, six children decide to come together and put on a dance show. Each has their own reason for performing aside from saving the youth centre. Jaden (Akai Osei-Mansfield) loves to dance but is forbidden to do so by his scholastically motivated parents. Ethan (Theo Stevenson) hopes to impress the girl of his dreams. Amy (Fleur Houdijk) holds a secret crush on Ethan and hopes to use this as an outlet for the emotions she has from taking care of her comatose father. They're helped along by Brian (Gamal Toseafa), Tim (Dominic Herman-Day), and Rebecca (Amelia Clarkson), and they all hope to manage to save the centre and make their hopes come true.

The film is a family comedy chronicling a reluctantly Jewish man (Timothy Spall) who tries to re-unite his dysfunctional family in time for the Jewish celebration of Pesach so as to appease his ailing mother Honor Blackman. At the beginning, Horrid Henry tries to steal cookies from Moody Margaret's Secret Club, and succeeds, but before he could eat them, his mother interrupts, telling him to do his homework. In the morning, Henry's mother wakes him up, and tells him to go to school. When she reminds him to take his homework, he remembers that his homework is in a really bad state, and leaves it behind. When he goes to school, Henry arranges for a forged note to be made, this and the lack of homework lands him in detention. Later, Miss Oddbod, the headteacher, tells Henry's class that the school inspectors are coming, and they don't want any 'unpleasantness'. With Henry in detention, his friends join him to practice for a talent contest, but their rehearsal is interrupted.

The film begins with a woman giving birth to a baby. Within a few minutes of his birth, the baby starts saying: "Ho, ho, ho!". Mother Claus calls her son, Frederick, over to meet his new brother, whom she has decided to name Nicholas. Mother Claus lovingly refers to the new baby as her little Saint Nick. During Christmas, when Nick opens his gifts including Fred's, he decides to give them away to orphans which makes Fred angry. Mother Claus advises Fred to be a better person by stating he should be more like his brother; this in turn causes Fred to resent Nick. Feeling isolated, Fred often climbs a tree to confide his problems in a bird. On one occasion, Nick cuts down the tree, saying that now Fred can bring it inside since he liked it so much. However, the birdhouse Fred's confidant lived in is smashed, causing the bird to leave; this causes a temporary rift between Fred and Nick.
