Tina Sloan (born February 1, 1943) is an American actress, best known for originating and playing the part of Lillian Raines on the CBS daytime drama Guiding Light from 1983 until the show's final broadcast in 2009. Her previous leading roles on daytime television have included scheming Kate Thornton Cannell on Somerset (1974–76), troubled Patti Barron McCleary on Search for Tomorrow (1976–77), and Dr. Olivia Delaney on Another World (1980–81). Her role as Lillian Raines endeared her and over the years, Lillian became one of the show's "guiding lights", a noble woman whose troubled past made her stronger and kept her morally grounded.
She has competed in eight marathons, including the Honolulu, Los Angeles, New York, and Paris marathons. She has climbed to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa and the Annapurna Refuge in Nepal.

Biography
Tina married Steve McPherson in 1975. Their son, Renny, graduated from Harvard and served as a Captain in the Marine Corps.She has competed in eight marathons, including the Honolulu, Los Angeles, New York, and Paris marathons. Nina Sayers (Natalie Portman), a young dancer in a prestigious New York City ballet company, lives with her mother, Erica (Barbara Hershey), a former dancer herself. The company is preparing to open the season with Swan Lake. The director, Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel), has to cast a new principal dancer after forcing Beth Macintyre (Winona Ryder) into retirement. Thomas wants the same ballerina to portray the innocent, fragile White Swan as well as her dark, sensual twin, the Black Swan. Nina auditions for the part, performing flawlessly as the White Swan, but not quite able to emulate the characteristics of the Black Swan. Although Nina does not do well during her audition, she approaches Thomas and asks him to reconsider her as the lead role. He tells her she is the ideal dancer to cast as the White Swan, but she lacks the passion needed to correctly portray the Black Swan.

A successful New York City attorney, Gavin Banek, is in a rush to file a power of appointment, which will prove a dead man signed his foundation over to Banek's law firm. He has a collision on FDR Drive with another car, belonging to an insurance salesman, Doyle Gipson, who is also in a rush to a hearing to try to gain custody of his children and to prevent his estranged wife from taking them to Oregon. Banek tries to brush Gipson off with a blank check thereby disobeying the law. After Gipson refuses to accept the check and voices his desire to "do the right thing", that is, filing a police report and insurance claim, Banek strands Gipson, telling him, "better luck next time". After arriving to the court late, Gipson learns that it proceeded without him and that it did not go in his favor.
