Biography
Tobias Lindholm est diplômé en 2007 de l’École nationale de cinéma du Danemark. Il rédige plusieurs courts métrages, dont In transit et le feuilleton Sommer. En 2010 il scénarise la série Borgen, succès international diffusé dans plus de 20 pays, avant de ficeler l’intrigue de Submarino.La même année, il réalise R avec Michael Noer, son premier long métrage, et remporte le Dragon Award du Meilleur film nordique à Göteborg ainsi que le Bodil du Meilleur film danois. En 2012, il scénarise La Chasse avec Mads Mikkelsen au casting, film acclamé par la profession et nommé dans neuf catégories à Cannes.

Mikkel Hartmann, the cook on board the Danish merchant ship "Rosen", is anxious to return to his wife and child in Denmark. Jan Sørensen, the ship's engineer, asks him to bring a letter home to his family. Back in Denmark, shipping company representative Lars Vestergaard, unable to close a difficult deal, requests help from CEO Peter Ludvigsen, who talks a group of Japanese businessmen down from an adamant offer. Ludvigsen suddenly learns that pirates in the Indian Ocean have hijacked the "Rosen". On the ship, the crew is separated into two groups, and Hartmann is forced at gunpoint to cook a meal. Automatic gunfire punctuates the night, frightening the hostages and keeping the atmosphere tense.

During the night of 9 April 1940, the Danish army is alerted that the Germans have crossed the border, Denmark is now at war with Europe's strongest army. In South Jutland a Danish bicycle infantry company and a motorcycle platoon is ordered to hold off the German advance until reinforcements can arrive.
