Tony Mark (also known as Anthony Mark) is an American film producer, director and screenwriter who has produced films by filmmakers such as Kathryn Bigelow and Robert Rodriguez.
Tony Mark received an Emmy nomination for line producing the HBO 2003 telefilm And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself which he shared with executive producers Joshua D. Maurer, Larry Gelbart, Mark Gordon and a list of others. Along with Maurer, Gordon and Gelbart he won the 2004 Imagen Award for producing ("Best Movie for Television
And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself") by the Imagen Foundation (established to encourage and recognize the positive portrayal of Latinos in media).
Tony Mark grew up in Manhattan, New York where he would find work as a vacuum cleaner salesman, taxi driver, and line cook before he found his true passion, filmmaking. When Tony Mark first saw François Truffaut's Day for Night it was a sealed deal. Mark attended prestigious Carnegie-Mellon University and spent years working in regional theater as an actor and as a behind-the-scenes manager. The young thespian won the best actor award at the New England Theatre Festival for his performance in Girl on the Via Flaminia.

The film was shot on location in Jordan, within a few hundred miles of the actual ongoing war in Iraq. Although the cast and below the line crew was made up of Americans, British, Canadians, Iraqis, Jordanians, Moroccans, Tunisians, Australians, Egyptians, Irish, Palestinians, Lebanese, Germans, Icelanders, Libyans and others, the crew got along fabiously and there were no incidents. Helping prevent mishaps (in the previously dangerous Middle Eastern country where a few terrorist events had occurred in the past) the film's crew was additionally protected by armed Royal Jordanian Army members. Jordanian-based Iraq war military contractors/mercenaries were also hired for security (and who also played parts in the film alongside professional actors, Jeremy Renner and Ralph Fiennes). During filming as many as five or more hand-held super 16mm cameras were used to film scenes in guerilla-docu style.

Georgia O'Keeffe (Joan Allen) is a young painter in the 1910s, while Alfred Stieglitz (Jeremy Irons) is New York-based photographer and art impresario, who discovers her works. Later, when O'Keeffe discovers that her works are displayed at an art gallery without her permission, she confronts Stieglitz. However, he manages to charm her, and starts their 20-year relationship. El Mariachi is recruited by CIA agent Sheldon Sands to kill General Emiliano Marquez, a corrupt Mexican Army officer who has been hired by Mexican drug lord Armando Barillo to assassinate the President of Mexico and overthrow the government. Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa (Antonio Banderas) finds himself without adequate funding to finance his war against the military-run government. He also finds himself at odds with the Americans because of the Hearst media empire's press campaign against him. To counter both of these threats, he sends emissaries to movie producers to convince them to pay to film his progress and the actual battles. Producer D.W. Griffith (Colm Feore) is immediately interested and convinces Mutual Film Studios boss Harry E. Aitkin to send a film crew. Aitkin's nephew Frank Thayer is initially a mere errand boy for the studio, but he makes a good impression with Villa, who demands that Thayer be placed in charge of the project. Thayer and a camera crew team film Villa leading his men to victory in battle. Despite the failure of this initial footage (which draws derisive laughter from potential backers) Thayer convinces Aitkin to invest even more money in a second attempt, and also convinces Villa to participate in making a more narrative film.

The film opens with a parody of The Exorcist, during which a teenage girl, Megan Voorhees (Natasha Lyonne), becomes possessed by the spirit of Hugh Kane, the previous owner of the House. Megan's mother (Veronica Cartwright) calls in two priests, Father McFeely (James Woods) and Father Harris (Andy Richter), who visit the house. After Father McFeely pays a trip to the toilet, the men attempt to drive Hugh's ghost out, but the exorcism does not go as planned, resulting in a chain of projectile vomit and various instances of pedophilia. At the Tarasco bar in Mexico, an American man tells the story of how he witnessed a massacre in another bar committed by a Mexican with a guitar case full of guns. The bar's patrons are uninterested until the American mentions the name "Bucho." Meanwhile, El Mariachi has a dream of his encounter with Moco that left his lover dead and his hand shot. He is awakened by the American, who tells him to continue his search for Bucho at the bar. El Mariachi travels to the town and meets a child to whom he gives some guitar playing tips. At the Tarasco bar, El Mariachi engages in a tense standoff with Bucho's goons before a massive gunfight erupts. He kills everyone in the bar, but is followed outside by a man named Tavo. On the street, Tavo shoots El Mariachi twice before being killed himself. El Mariachi is then sheltered in the local bookstore by Carolina, the owner. Bucho arrives at the bar to survey the carnage and hears the kid from earlier playing his guitar by the door. A paranoid Bucho orders his men to hunt down the man with a guitar case full of guns.
