Toyoo Ashida (芦田 豊雄, Ashida Toyoo, April 21, 1944 – July 23, 2011) was an anime character designer, animation director and director. He was most notable for directing the Fist of the North Star Series and Vampire Hunter D and for character designs on Vifam, Wataru, Minky Momo and F-Zero GP Legend. He is the founder of the anime production studio, Studio Live and as well as the Japanese Animation Creators Association (JAniCA) along with Satoshi Kon.
His designs are similar to those of Akira Toriyama. Toyoo got his style while working on Dr. Slump.

After a global-scale nuclear war, the majority of earth's surface has become a wasteland, with most of the world's survivors fighting over the few uncontaminated food and water supplies. Kenshiro, the master of the deadly martial art Hokuto Shinken, is traveling with his fiancee Yuria (Julia in English version) when they are confronted by Ken's former friend Shin of the Nanto Seiken. After defeating Ken in combat, Shin engraves seven wounds on Ken's chest and leaves him for dead, taking Yuria with him. Ken's eldest brother Raoh, having witnessed the fight without intervening, returns to his dojo and challenges his Master Ryuken's decision to choose Ken as his successor over him. Raoh kills Ryuken and proclaims he will become the ruler of the new world.

À l’avenir, un équipage de quatre scientifiques de la station spatiale de Tolmetskius ESP atterrira sur le navire coulé d’une autre planète verte. 9 membres d'équipage sont morts, avec un seul capitaine Buzz survivant à bord. Les scientifiques portent le gars à la station, et avec elle - un étranger étrange qui ne montre pas de signes de vie. Sur l'insistance du chef, le corps étranger est jeté dans l'espace. Plus tard à bord, les membres de l'équipage commencent à souffrir d'hallucinations et de troubles mentaux, poursuivis par les erreurs qu'ils ont commises dans le passé, amis morts, connaissances et amants appellent à la vengeance. Cela les fait s'entretuer. Un peu plus tard, tous les scientifiques meurent, à l'exception de la seule fille nommée Moira, qui tombe amoureuse de Buzz. À la fin, Buzz et la fille font sauter la station, mais n’ont pas le temps de s’échapper.
