Urmila Matondkar (born 4 February 1974) is an Indian film actress, who has appeared in Marathi, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam language films. Her film roles contributed to a then-new screen persona for a Hindi film heroine, in which she was known for her intense style and dancing skills.
Matondkar made her acting debut as a child in Shreeram Lagoo's 1980 marathi film Zaakol and went on to feature in several other films as a child. She also acted in the Malayalam film Chanakyan (1989). She went to star in several Bollywood films, including the Ram Gopal Varma-directed musical drama Rangeela (1995), the drama Judaai (1997), and the crime thriller Satya (1998), all of which earned her Filmfare Award nominations. These roles established her in Bollywood and earned her the tag of a sex symbol. Matondkar also gained recognition in Telugu and Tamil cinema with roles in Antham (1992), Gaayam (1993), Indian (1996), and Anaganaga Oka Roju (1997).
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Urmila garnered critical praise for portraying a range of intense, psychological characters. Delhi Safari is the story of a journey undertaken by a leopard cub, his mother, a monkey, a bear and a parrot when the forest they live in is on the verge of destruction. Builders have encroached upon their forest and the animals decide to go to Delhi and protest in front of the parliament and ask the parliament some very simple yet pertinent questions they were – why has man become the most dangerous animal? Doesn't man understand that if the forests and the animals don't co-exist with humans, the balance of the ecosystem will be endangered? The film starts with Yuvraj 'Yuvi' saying that he lost his father Sultan (Sunil Shetty) in the morning,but doesn't want to lose his home in any cost. The film carries a flashback of the morning with Yuvi and Sultan playing in the forest while his mother, Begum (Urmila Matondkar) enters. The two say something that Begum gets angry and goes. Soon, Begum forgives Sultan and Yuvraj. However, while coming back, a whole pack of bulldozers come. Begum manages to escape, but Yuvi and Sultan are trapped. In a bid to save Yuvi, Sultan catches Yuvi in his mouth and tosses him to Begum. However, he himself is killed by a human wielding a shotgun, making the whole forest a large enemy of the humans. A talk happens of Bajrangi, a monkey (Govinda), saying that he would beat out the wits of those men, and asks whether anyone knows anyone who knows language of humans. A white bird pipes up, saying he knows someone. Yuvi meets the white bird the next day, and asks who is the one he said about. The white bird says he is Alex (Akshaye Khanna), who lives with a director Vikram. Bajrangi, Bagga the bear (Boman Irani), Yuvi go and kidnap the parrot and convince him to go to Delhi with them to talk to the parliament. After a few good and bad experiences Begum tells that no one is going to Delhi after listening to a tiger's story as soon after she sees Sultan and proceeds to Delhi. They finally reach Delhi and tell their message. In the last scene it is shown the jungle is saved and all are happy.

Nasik-based Heerendra Dhaan (Ajay Devgan) and Raj Ranade (Prashant Raj Sachdev) are bodyguards of a politician but, after their employer is implicated in a scam, they end up assaulting a police officer and flee to Mumbai. Once there they meet with Rambhabhai (Rajpal Yadav), who in turn, gets them employed with a gangster named Shambhu. After a short while the duo are apprehended by Police Inspector Narsimha, questioned, and after they agree to cooperate to bring down Shambhu, are let go. Om Prakash Makhija (Shah Rukh Khan) is a junior artist in the 1970s Hindi film industry, in love with film star Shanti Priya (Deepika Padukone). One evening, Om views the premiere of Shanti's film Dream Girl, posing as Manoj Kumar. Later that night, Om becomes drunk and describes his vision of himself as a famous, wealthy film star winning the Filmfare Award for Best Actor to his friend Pappu (Shreyas Talpade) and some local children. At the shooting of a later film, Om rescues Shanti from a fire scene where of the fire has escaped control, and they become friends. One day, after following Shanti, he overhears her and producer Mukesh Mehra's (Arjun Rampal) conversation, that Mukesh and Shanti have married in secret and Shanti is pregnant and expects a traditional wedding. Mukesh pretends to be happy with the news, and invites Shanti at the set of their soon-to-be-made film Om Shanti Om. Mukesh promises to cancel the film, reveal their marriage to the public, and have a grand wedding on the set; but instead traps Shanti on the set and sets it on fire to prevent a financial loss and to protect his career. Shanti tearfully begs Mukesh to release her but he leaves anyway.

Nikhil Kapoor (Sanjay Suri) decides to return from the USA to Mumbai. When he arrives, he decides to chill out at a nightclub. During a solar eclipse in 1986, young Naina Shah, while traveling in the backseat of her England-based dad's car, is struck by glass from the shattered windshield during an accident, and loses her eyesight.
