Valeria D'Obici (born 17 April 1952) is an Italian film and television actress.

Born in Lerici, Valeria D'Obici debuted in 1974 in the "poliziottesco" La polizia ha le mani legate. Her breakout role was the ugly Fosca in Ettore Scola's Passion of Love; for this role she was awarded with a David di Donatello for Best Actress.

Biography

Valeria D'Obici apparaît pour la première fois au cinéma en 1974. Après plusieurs rôles secondaires, elle interprète le rôle de Fosca, jeune femme atteinte d’un mal inconnu, dans le film Passion d’amour (Passione d'amore) d’Ettore Scola. Le film est un succès commercial et critique et lui offre une certaine notoriété en Italie. Elle obtient le prix David di Donatello de la meilleure actrice pour ce rôle. Elle apparaît par la suite dans diverses productions italiennes au cours des années 1980 avant de se faire de plus en plus rare, retournant vers les seconds rôles de ces débuts.

The movie is a tale about a young boy aroused by the sexual awakenings and the political views of the Italian youth. It's set around a group of friends. Silvio (the main character), Ponzi (his best friend) and a group of boys and girls that go to the same school. The school everybody goes to is threatened of being privatized. So the students are gathered to decide whether to occupy the school or take a different action. The most radical kids end up setting the tone of the oncoming manifestation and so the school is going to be occupied. In the night the friends gather, girls in one place and boys on the other. They smoke and share experiences. Martino tells the boys that he's had sex with his girlfriend, and that he can last about ten minutes. On the other hand, as the girls chat, his girlfriend tells her friends that it was all very fast.
