Vincent Van Patten (born October 17, 1957) is an American actor, former tour professional tennis player, and the commentator for the World Poker Tour. He is the son of late longtime Hollywood actor Dick Van Patten.

Biography

Van Patten was born in Bellerose, New York as the youngest son of actor Dick Van Patten and his wife, Pat, née Poole, a former June Taylor dancer. He is of Dutch, English, and Italian descent on his father's side. Van Patten was first urged into show business at age nine by his father’s agent. Van Patten acted in more than thirty commercials, including Colgate toothpaste, before his father was cast in the TV series, Arnie, and moved his family from Long Island to Los Angeles.

From his first marriage to Betsy Russell he has two sons: Richard and Vince. His second marriage, on April 15, 2003, was to The Young and the Restless actress Eileen Davidson; they have one child together.

Vince is related to several other well-known actors, actresses, and singers through blood and by marriage. Vince is brother of James Van Patten and Nels Van Patten, nephew of actress Joyce Van Patten, nephew of Timothy Van Patten, and cousin of actress Talia Balsam.

High Roller is told in flashback. Ungar (Michael Imperioli), in a motel room on the last night of his life, relates his personal story to a stranger (Michael Pasternak). He speaks of growing up as the son of a bookie, his career as a tournament gin player, moving into poker, his marriage and the birth of his daughter Stefanie, cocaine abuse, and the breakup of his marriage. The film climaxes with Ungar's third victory at the main event of the World Series of Poker a year before his passing. In the final scene, Ungar departs the motel room with the stranger (who apparently represents Death).

The film begins with a young teen girl screaming, only to reveal that she is a student at a frat party. While at the party, the camera cuts to Peter, who is the president of Alpha Sigma Rho. He decides that four new pledges should have an initiation. He decides that the group of youths: bookish Marti, brawn Jeff, partying Denise, and surfer Seth, should spend the night in the supposedly "haunted" estate, Garth Manor, where there was a murder twelve years ago prior to the present events. Peter began telling the story about the previous events that took place twelve years earlier as he leads them to the estate. The house's former owner, Raymonde Garth, who dismembered his family in the parlor strangled & killed his wife to death & kills his four deformed children: Margeret, Morris, & Suzanne, in seemingly violent ways, before finally hanging himself. However, the youngest child, Andrew Garth, dead or alive, was never found and is rumored to have seen the murders and fled the scene. Rumor has it that the deformed Andrew might still be living inside Garth Manor and his remains are left hidden as a deformed monster.
