Vsevolod Vasilyevich Sanayev (Все′волод Васи′льевич Сана′ев, February 25 [12, o.s.], 1912, Tula, Russian Empire, — January 27, 1996, Moscow, Russian Federation) was a Soviet film and theatre actor popular in the 1960s–1970s. Sanayev, who worked both in Moscow Art Theatre and Mossovet Theatres, was the holder of numerous high-profile state titles and awards (People’s Artist of the USSR, 1969; Order of Lenin, 1971; Order of the October Revolution, 1981).

Biography

Vsevolod Sanayev was born on February 25 (12), 1912, in Tula. In 1926 — 1930 he worked as a harmonica fitter at the Tula musical instruments factory, then joined the local factory theatre and in 1931 moved to the Tula-based Gorky Theatre of Drama and Comedy. In 1937 Sanayev was graduated from Russian Academy of Theatre Arts and joined the Moscow Art Theatre troupe. In 1938 he debuted on screen in the film Volga-Volga (where he had two small roles, of a bearded wood-cutter and beardless musician). His first success was the part of Dobryakov in the film The Girl I Love (1940). In 1943 he joined the troupe of the Mossovet Theatre, in 1952 — the Moscow Art Theatre.

In the 1950s Sanayev became one of the leading actors of the Soviet cinema; among his best known works were Kantaurov (The Return of Vasily Bortnikov, 1952), Dontsov in The First Echelon (1955), Kozlov in Five Days, Five Nights (1960), Siply (Husky) in the Optimistic Tragedy (1962), Colonel Lukin in the war epic Liberation (1968). Highly popular was his Colonel Zorin in the Soviet militia detective trilogy: The return of St. Luca (1970), The Black Prince (1973) and The Version of Colonel Zorin (1978). Critics praised his parts in two Vasily Shukshin's films, Your Son and Brother (1965) and Pechki-lavochki (1972). His later notable films included White Dew (1983) and Forgotten Melody for Flute (1988). And orthodox Commuinist, Sanayev for many years was the head of the Mosfilm Communist Party committee (partkom).

Vsevolod Sanayev died on January 27, 1996, in Moscow. He was buried at the Novodevichye Cemetery.

D'un kolkhoze reculé de l'Altaï, Ivan Rastorgouïev et sa femme Nina partent pour une station thermale sur la mer Noire. Ils laissent derrière eux la vie villageoise, les champs à perte de vue, leurs amis, des tablées chantant les chansons populaires. Leur voyage dans le train est ponctué de situations tragicomiques provoquées par le décalage entre la mentalité de paysan et citadin. Ils y rencontrent un charmant voleur qui se fait passer auprès d'eux pour un ingénieur ferroviaire, leur fait boire du Cognac trouvé dans une valise dérobée dont il inspecte le contenu sur le champ, et s'enfuit à l'arrivée de la milice lancée à ses trousses. S'apercevant de leur erreur, les Rastorgouïev deviennent extrêmement méfiants et voient les criminels partout. Ainsi, ils mettent du temps à faire confiance au professeur linguiste qui se joint à eux dans le compartiment. Mais le brave homme finit par briser la glace et les invite à passer quelques jours chez lui à Moscou. Les Rastorgouïev y découvrent le quotidien d'une famille d'intellectuels et une multitude d'objets dont ils ne soupçonnaient pas l’existence. Ivan se trouve même invité à une conférence linguistique où il raconte devant un parterre médusé une anecdote de sa jeunesse. Puis, le couple poursuit son chemin vers la mer.

There is an old man named Yermolai Voyevodin living in a Siberian village. He has four sons and a daughter. They all have different lives. The oldest one - Ignat - moves to Moscow and begins to perform at a circus. He is happy with his life and manages to seduce his brother Maxim into coming to the capital. Maxim finds a job as a laborer at a construction site, but constantly feels loneliness. He longs for his village, but he is too proud to come back home. Another son - Stepan - gets into a "righteous" fight and goes to prison. Three months before his official release, Stepan escapes from prison and returns to his village to see his relatives and his homeland and to find strength to serve his sentence, as he calls it. On 8 May 1945, the day of Germany's surrender at the end of World War II, exiled communist Erich Braun returns along with the Red Army to his native city of Dresden, only three months after it was devastated in aerial bombardment. He aids a group of Soviet soldiers to recover the art of the Old Masters Picture Gallery from the ruins of the Zwinger Palace. During the next five days, while searching for the collection, he encounters several of the city's residents who have also returned from the war. Although they distrust the Soviets at first, they eventually assist them to recover the pictures.

Byvalov, chef carriériste et bureaucrate d'une petite ville de province rêve de s'établir à Moscou. Il reçoit un télégramme de la capitale pour présenter des équipes de musiciens amateurs aux Olympiades musicales de Moscou, mais estimant qu'il n'y a pas de talent dans sa petite ville, Byvalov ne veut envoyer personne. Il existe deux orchestres d'amateurs en ville, l'un de musique classique, l'autre de musique populaire. Ils essayent en vain de convaincre le chef du soviet municipal. Finalement Byvalov, accepte de partir en bateau sur la Volga pour rejoindre Moscou, avec l'orchestre de musique classique. L'autre équipe, dirigée par Dounia (Lioubov Orlova), s'y rend par ses propres moyens et arrive avant les autres.
