William Allen Young (born January 24, 1954) is an American actor best known for his role as Frank Mitchell on UPN's Moesha and directing a few episodes of the show, and made a guest appearance on UPN's The Parkers as Frank Mitchell. His mother is Mother Joan Walker from California Southwest Jurisdiction. His other television credits include The Day After, Matlock, Babylon 5, CBS's JAG, Knots Landing, The Jeffersons, and The Women of Brewster Place, among other shows. He portrayed a recurring character on CBS's CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and a different recurring character on CBS's CSI: Miami.

In an alternate 1982, an alien ship inexplicably stops over Johannesburg. When investigation teams enter the ship, they discover a population of sick and malnourished extraterrestrials, derogatorily referred to as "prawns". The South African government confines the aliens to "District 9", a government camp that is located outside of Johannesburg. Twenty-eight years later, in 2010, following periodic conflict between the aliens and the locals living near District 9, the government hires private military company Multinational United (MNU) to relocate the aliens to a new internment. Wikus van de Merwe (Sharlto Copley), an Afrikaner bureaucrat, is appointed by Piet Smit (Louis Minnaar), an MNU executive and his father-in-law, to lead the relocation.

An intruder in a black mask and clothing ties up San Francisco socialite Page Forrester at her remote beach house and kills her with a hunting knife with a jagged edge. He writes the word "Bitch" on the wall with her blood. Her husband Jack (Bridges) later recovers in a clinic with a bloody head wound, claiming to have been knocked unconscious and awoken to find Page's body. After her funeral, he is arrested for her murder by DA Thomas Krasny, based on evidence that includes a witness at a club who saw a hunting knife in Jack's locker; medical suggestion that Jack's head wound was self-inflicted; Jack's fingerprints being at the crime scene with Page's; and Jack inheriting all of Page's corporate and personal assets in the event of her death. Forrester tries to hire high-profile lawyer Teddy Barnes to defend him after hearing of her high success rate. Barnes, however, used to work for Krasny, and is reluctant to take the case as she stopped working in criminal law after an incident with him.
