Yūko Daike (大家由祐子, Daike Yūko), née le 9 août 1971 à Kōchi (Japon), est une actrice japonaise.

Biography

Elle se distingue en 1988 en remportant le prix Bikan Shoujo Contest Grand Prix et se rend populaire à la télévision dans le programme All Night Fuji de la chaîne FujiTV.

Elle tourne plusieurs petits rôles dramatiques avant d'être remarquée par le réalisateur Takeshi Kitano, qui lui donne son premier grand rôle dans le film Kids Return (1996) et devient la compagne (ou la muse) du réalisateur. Elle apparaît ensuite dans plusieurs de ses films, dont notamment Dolls (2002) où elle joue le rôle de la jeune femme du parc et puis Zatōichi (2003) où elle interprète une Geisha fatale.

The film's plot follows a traditional theme, with Zatoichi (a blind swordsman) coming to the defense of townspeople caught up in a local Yakuza gang war and being forced to pay excessive amounts of protection money. Meanwhile, Zatoichi befriends a local farmer and her gambler nephew and eventually offers his assistance to two geisha siblings (one of whom is actually a man) who are seeking revenge for the murder of their parents. The siblings are the only survivors of a robbery and massacre that was carried out on their family estate ten years ago. They soon discover the people responsible for the murders are the same Yakuza wreaking havoc on the small town.

Kitano plays Nishi, a violent and unpredictable police detective who quits the force after a terrible incident results in his partner, Horibe (Ren Osugi), needing to use a wheelchair.
