Yami Gautam (born 28 November 1988) is an Indian actress who works in Hindi movies as well as in different regional language films including Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu. She is the daughter of director Mukesh Gautam and sister of actress Surilie Gautam.
Gautam's initial appearances were on Indian television commercials and soap operas such as Chand Ke Paar Chalo (2008), Raajkumar Aaryyan (2008), Yeh Pyar Na Hoga Kam (2009) and Meethi Choori No 1 (2010).
In 2010, she made her cinematic debut with Kannada film Ullasa Utsaha, co-starring Ganesh. In 2012, Gautam made her Bollywood debut in Shoojit Sircar's romantic comedy Vicky Donor, which touched on the topic of sperm donation. Upon release, the film was a critical and commercial success, and Gautam gained positive reviews for her performance.

Biography
Yami Gautam was born in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh and was brought up in Chandigarh. She was born to Mukesh Gautam, a Punjabi film director. Yami has a sister, Surilie Gautam who made her big screen debut with Punjabi film Power Cut. She did her regular schooling and later joined college for pursuing a graduate degree in law honours. She had aspired to join Indian Administrative Services (IAS) as a young girl, but at the age of 20, Yami decided to start her acting career. As she was pursuing Studies in Law Honors (first-year PU Student of the Law), but she left full-time studies for acting. Recently, she is doing her part-time Graduation from Mumbai. Vishi (Ajay Devgn) is a small-time crook who would do anything for money. He falls in love with Khushi (Sonakshi Sinha), a simple HR executive, who then begins a relationship with him. Arjun (Allu Sirish) is a rich kid who has all the luxuries in life. One day, his dad sends him to a village called T Vennure for some business work. As Arjun's best friend Shanmugam also hails from that village, Arjun happily accepts to go there. On landing in the village, Arjun comes to know that his friend Shanmugam has eloped with Rajeswari, the daughter of Pashupathy (Prakash Raj), a rich land lord in the village who is hell bent to save his family's prestige always, and is missing from the past six months. After meeting Shanmugam's father (L.B. Sriram) and finding out some bitter truths about Shanmugam, Arjun decides to stay in the village and find his missing friend. A young lawyer Yazhini (Yami Gautam) assists him in his work. After finding a strong opposition from Pasupathy's son Saravanan (Harish) and Palani (Brahmaji), Arjun along with his friend Venky (Sricharan) and Yazhini assemble all their college friends as a group along with the neighbour village youth as a group to find the mystery behind Shanmugam and Rajeswari's absence from the village, only to know that they were killed and buried at the grounds of a Damaged Monument. Arjun stays back there to find out the reason behind the couple's death. After finding a help from Pasupathy's wife (Pavitra Lokesh) and Daughter in Law (Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli), Arjun files a case with the help of Yazhini. The case, though interrupted many times due to Saravanan's men, including the town's police, remains steady due to the efforts of Arjun and his friends. A fine day, on the request of Pasupathy's wife, Palani promises to help Arjun in the mystery. As promised he helps them by narrating the incidents happened actually.

Audience who don't know the actual hero behind the screen appreciates Premanand for the action sequences while Gowri, Aadhityan and the whole crew appreciates Tarzan for his work. Gowri and Tarzan fall in love with each other. Premanand decides to destroy Tarzan who is a hindrance between him and Gowri. At that time Aadhityan announces his next project with same cast and crew. Premanand wants to remove Tarzan from the project, but Aadhityan in turn removes Premanand from the movie and make Tarzan the hero of the movie. This angers Premanand and he takes revenge by plotting to kill Tarzan, but ends up killing Tarzan's father (Nedumudi Venu). Aadhityan tells Tarzan to let matters lie low for a while before he takes his revenge. Once the shooting for the film gets over, Tarzan goes to Premanand and Gowri's brother to take revenge for killing his father and when he returns it is shown that the audience has accepted Tarzan as the new Hero and Tarzan and Gowri are more than happy to openly accept their relation.
