Yasuko Matsuyuki (松雪 泰子, Yasuko Matsuyuki, born November 28, 1972 in Saga Prefecture) is a Japanese actress and singer signed to Stardust Promotion.
In 1991, Matsuyuki made her film debut in the TV drama series "Nekketsu Shinnyū Shain Sengen". In 1993, she played an outgoing leading role in the manga based drama series "Shiratori Reiko de Gozaimasu!". That role made a big impact on the drama scene and established her career as an actress.
In 1998, after a 2 year relationship, Matsuyuki married guitarist Gaku Kadowaki (門脇 学). She had a baby boy in 2004, but got divorced in 2005, having separated the previous year.
Matsuyuki has two younger brothers. One is Kōhei Takamura (高村 晃平), who is also an actor, and the other is Yūna Katsuki (香月 優奈) who is a rock singer.

Yasuko Matsuyuki was born in 1972 in Tosu, Saga. In 1989, while she was in high school, Matsuyuki won a Non-no fashion magazine contest. After graduating from Tosu Commercial High School, she moved to Tokyo and started her career as a model.In 1991, Matsuyuki made her film debut in the TV drama series "Nekketsu Shinnyū Shain Sengen". In 1993, she played an outgoing leading role in the manga based drama series "Shiratori Reiko de Gozaimasu!". That role made a big impact on the drama scene and established her career as an actress.

By the 2060s, robotics technology has become extremely advanced, including cybernetics. World opinion begins to turn against robotics, leading to the U.N. declaring a unilateral ban on further research in 2067. Japan, being home to robotics pioneer Daiwa Heavy Industries, strongly protests this ban, but is unable to prevent its passage. In protest, Japan withdraws from international politics. All foreigners are deported, and further immigration is prohibited. In addition, the R.A.C.E. network is constructed — 270 off-shore installations that cover Japan with an energy field, nullifying all communication with the outside world and making satellite surveillance impossible. Trade and diplomacy continues, but Japan vanishes from the world scene.

Leaving school for the day, seven-year-old Taichi finds a baby fox, abandoned by its mother alongside a road in rural Hokkaido. The two bond and Taichi decides to leave the fox with the police as a lost item. The policeman on duty takes a reluctant Taichi and the fox to the local Yajima Veterinary Clinic. It turns out that Taichi has begun to live with Ko, the vet, and his teenage daughter Misuzu after his free-spirited mother Ritsuko has gone to Micronesia to work as a photographer. Many people have abandoned animals with Ko, and paying customers are few with most of his income coming from frequently boarding a friendly dog that is almost part of the family. Taichi feels abandoned as well, and clashes with Ko when the vet sees the new arrival as a burden, especially after discovering that the fox is deaf and blind. However, Taichi names it Helen after Helen Keller and attempts to bring her back to full health while teaching her about the world as sort of a young Annie Sullivan. Even though Taichi gets her to eat, Helen suffers increasing fits stemming from her brain, which is the result of a tumor.
