Le Rêve du Papillon s’inspire de la vie de deux jeunes poètes Rüstü Onur (Mert Fırat) et Muzaffer Tayyip Uslu, (Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ), qui ont vécu dans la ville minière de Zonguldak, dans les années quarante, à l'aube de la deuxième guerre mondiale. La vie de ces deux romantiques bascule à la suite de la rencontre avec la jeune lycéenne Suzan, (Belçim Bilgin), qui devient leur muse. Un film sur l’amour et la mort, les deux meilleurs prétextes de la poésie.
In the remote and undeveloped eastern Black Sea region, a six-year-old boy (Yusuf) wanders through the woods searching for his lost father, trying to make sense of his life. His father is a beekeeper whose bees have disappeared unexpectedly, threatening his livelihood. A bizarre accident kills the father. There is little dialogue or music in the film. The three main characters (Yusuf and his parents) are all fairly taciturn, and the soundtrack is filled out with the sounds of the forest and the creatures that live there. The environment is a recurring theme.
Ali and Reşat bring their father Ahmet who is suffering from brain cancer for chemotherapy treatment in Istanbul. Unable to bear the treatment and thinking himself to be a burden, Ahmet runs away from the hospital and manages to reach a home for elders. The residents believe him to be abandoned by his children and take him in. Ali and Reşat find him but decide to let him stay when they see that he is happy there. They learn the stories and backgrounds of each of the elders. Two of them, Yaşar and Nebahat have fallen in love and plan to get married. Ahmet arrangers for a big wedding and invites them to his home village in Diyarbakır for their honeymoon together with all the other elders.
A disciplinary transfer leads a teacher into a remote village somewhere in the mountains. There are neither conventional roads nor electricity. Although the teacher will only stay for the winter, he puts a lot of effort into educating the local children while he can.

Yol tells the story of several prisoners on furlough in Turkey. Seyit Ali (Tarık Akan) travels to his house and finds that his wife (Şerif Sezer) has betrayed him and works as a prostitute. She was caught by her family and held captive for Seyit Ali to end her life in an honor killing. Though apparently determined at first, he changes his mind when his wife starts to freeze while travelling in the snow. Despite his efforts to keep her alive, he eventually fails. His wife's death relieves Seyit Ali from family pressure and he is saved from justice since she freezes but he has an internal struggle and must return to jail.
L'histoire d'Abu qui a déjà passé tant d’années en prison que c’est pour lui comme un refuge par rapport à la brutalité de l’univers extérieur. En plein hiver, il est remis en liberté avec deux compagnons de cellule et constate alors que les amitiés ne résistent pas à la faim et que son avenir n’est pas rose. En flash back, le film raconte le destin de ces trois hommes, Abu, Arap et Hacı.
A young woman moves with her husband and small child to her husband's family in Istanbul. Her son becomes ill and the doctor tells her that he will soon die if he doesn't get an operation. The family refuses to help her because they can't see anything wrong with the boy and all money is needed for a new shop they have just opened. When her son dies she takes a desperate step.
The protagonist of the film is Cabbar (performed by Güney). Cabbar is directed to support his crowded kurdish family - five children, a wife, and a grandmother - with the earnings from an old phaeton with two exhausted, half-dead horses. The family tries to survive in a damp and dingy living-quarters. Cabbar does not have a good run of business. He is indebted almost to everyone. His single hope is in the lottery tickets, which he continuously buys. He has bound his hope to these pieces of paper.
