Dieter Dengler, a German-born U.S. Navy pilot in squadron VA-145, is shot down in his A-1 Skyraider over Laos in February 1966, while on a combat mission. He survives the crash only to be pursued, and ultimately captured, by the Pathet Lao. Dengler is given the chance for leniency by the Province Governor if he signs a document condemning America, but he refuses. He is tortured and taken to a prison camp. There he meets fellow American military soldiers and pilots, such as Gene DeBruin and Duane W. Martin, along with Y.C., Procet, and Phisit, some of whom have been captive for years. Dengler begins planning an escape, much to the disbelief of his fellow combatants, who have been downtrodden through physical and psychological torture by the camp guards.

Directed by David Zeiger
Origin USA
Genres War, Documentary
Themes Politique, Documentary films about war, Documentary films about historical events, Documentaire sur une personnalité, Documentary films about health care, Political films, United States Armed Forces in films
Actors Edward Asnere, Donald Sutherland, Jane Fonda, Troy Garity

Sir No Sir! tells the story of the 1960s GI movement against the war in Vietnam for the first time on film. The film explores the profound impact that the movement had on the war and investigates the way in which the GI Movement has been erased from public memory. In the 1960’s an anti-war movement emerged that altered the course of history. This movement didn’t take place on college campuses, but in barracks and on aircraft carriers. It flourished in army stockades, navy brigs and in the dingy towns that surround military bases. It penetrated elite military colleges like West Point. And it spread throughout the battlefields of Vietnam. It was a movement no one expected, least of all those in it. Hundreds went to prison and thousands into exile. And by 1971 it had, in the words of one colonel, infested the entire armed services. Yet today few people know about the GI Movement against the war in Vietnam.
In Enemy Hands, 1h34
Origin USA
Genres Drama, War, Thriller, Action
Themes Seafaring films, Transport films, Submarine films, Political films, United States Armed Forces in films
Actors Til Schweiger, Thomas Kretschmann, William H. Macy, Lauren Holly, Jeremy Sisto, Scott Caan

Macy stars as the COB (chief of the boat) on a fictitious US Navy submarine, the USS Swordfish (although there were two actual submarines named USS Swordfish that served the US Navy during and after World War II, neither are represented by the sub in this film). While on patrol in the North Atlantic, the ship is ambushed by two German U-boats. Swordfish destroys one of them, but is critically damaged by a torpedo fired from the second one, the fictitious U-boat U-429 (again, there was a real WWII German submarine U-429, not actually represented in the film). Eight members of the American crew escape and are held prisoner on board U-429. However, the American executive officer had previously contracted meningitis and given it to his captain, who brought it aboard the U-429. Within days, over half the German crew, as well as some of the Americans, contract the disease and die. Although the Germans and Americans begin to work together to keep the boat operational, not all the U-boat crew is willing to go along with this arrangement. Also, another U-boat and an American destroyer (the fictional USS Logan, not related to the actual attack transport of that name) threaten to overwhelm their tentative truce.

They determine that the Earth's molten core, which generates this field, has stopped rotating, and within a year the field will collapse exposing the planet's surface directly to devastating solar radiation. Backed by the U.S. Government, Keyes, Leveque, and Zimsky create a plan to bore down to the core and set off several nuclear explosions to restart the rotation. They gain help of rogue scientist Ed "Braz" Brazzelton (Delroy Lindo) who has devised a vessel made of "Unobtainium" that can withstand the heat and pressure within the Earth's crust and convert it to energy, as well as a laser-driven boring system that will allow them to quickly pass through the crust. Construction starts immediately on the Virgil, a multi-compartment vessel to be helmed by Space Shuttle pilots Commander Robert Iverson (Bruce Greenwood) and Major Rebecca "Beck" Childs (Hilary Swank) who will join Keyes and the others. To prevent a worldwide panic, Keyes enlists computer hacker Theodore Donald "Rat" Finch (DJ Qualls) to scour the Internet and eliminate all traces of the pending disaster or their plan.

He previously survived a gruesome battle on the Solomon Islands against the Imperial Japanese Army that killed his entire squad and left him with a scar on his neck and almost deaf in his left ear. Enders' new assignment is to protect Navajo code talker Pvt. Ben Yahzee, and carries a promotion for Enders to Sergeant. Sgt. Pete 'Ox' Anderson also receives a parallel assignment protecting Navajo code talker Pvt. Charlie Whitehorse. The Navajo code, as it was known, was a code based on two parts: 1) the Navajo language and 2) a code embedded in the language, meaning that even native speakers would be confused by it, referring to a tank as a turtle, for example. The code was close to unbreakable but also so difficult only a few people could learn it.

She receives orders to pick up survivors spotted adrift by a British PBY Catalina patrol plane. She retrieves three survivors – the British nurse Claire Paige (Olivia Williams) and two men, one of them wounded – from the British hospital ship Fort James, which had been sunk two days earlier; one of the survivors blames the sinking on a German U-boat that he briefly saw on the surface just before the Fort James suffered a torpedo hit. As they pick up the survivors, the crew of the Tiger Shark spots a German warship bearing down on them. The submarine has several encounters with the German warship and suffers damage from depth charges in the process. Later, the commanding officer of the Tiger Shark, Lieutenant Brice (Bruce Greenwood), discovers that the wounded survivor is actually a German prisoner-of-war, Bernard Schillings (Jonathan Hartman). Brice confronts him because he thinks Schillings has been making noises to betray the Tiger Shark‍ 's position to the German warship.
