Synopsis
Few men from South Albania (North Epirus) immigrate to Greece during Albania Crisis. The film follows their travel for a better life in Greece. After crossing the borders on foot, they arrive in Athens with every transport means. There, they face the racism from local society. Some people help them but the difficulties are so many that they decide to return their village in Albania.Actors

Deux Grecs d'Albanie (Thomas Lekkas et Achilleas Nasios) traversent la frontière pour rejoindre la Grèce. Ils sont rejoints en chemin par Nikos, un gamin de 10 ans qui vient de perdre ses parents (sa mère a été tuée par les garde-frontière quand elle essayait de passer en Grèce). Tous trois traversent la Grèce dans un road-movie qui évoque les forces et faiblesses du pays. Ils atteignent enfin Athènes où ils déchantent très vite. En Albanie, ils étaient considérés comme des Grecs ; en Grèce ils sont considérés comme des Albanais. Thomas finit par être tué dans un immeuble inachevé. Pubescent Voula (Tania Palaiologou) and her five-year-old brother Alexandros (Michalis Zeke) want to see their father, whom they have never met before. Their mother tells them he lives in Germany and so Voula and Alexandros one day secretely leave their home to find him. They go to the Athens Railway Station and try to use the Germany Express, but are removed from the train for not having a ticket. A police officer takes them to a distant uncle, who convinces the officer that the children do not have a father in Germany. He informs him that their mother lied to them, to prevent them from knowing the truth: that they have different fathers and are simply the results of one-night stands. Although Voula and Alexandros eavesdrop on the conversation, they still believe their mother and believe the uncle is lying. When a blizzard suddenly hits the village and no more attention is paid to them, the children manage to escape.

'Saudamini' (Shabana Azmi) is a bright village girl with academic ambitions and an appetite for literature and philosophy. Renouncing her sinful past Emanuelle (Laura Gemser) moves into a convent and becomes a nun, dedicating her life to religion and rejecting sin. Monika has a sexual relationship with another sister and blackmails her (by refusing sex) if she does not comply with her demands. Later a mysterious man, armed with a gun visits the convent. He has sex with Monika; witnessed by most nuns in the convent. Monika is later dismissed. Emanuelle later leaves at her own free-will.
