The film's singers were Alka Yagnik, Sonu Nigam, Udit Narayan, Anuradha Paudwal, Kumar Sanu, and Abhijeet. "They Are Back" is a veiled reference to an earlier movie, Main Khiladi Tu Anari, starring Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar.
Synopsis
Petty thieves and con-men, Ajay (Saif Ali Khan) and Dev (Akshay Kumar), accidentally kill a young man named Mohan Tripathi (Ravi Kishen). This weighs heavily on their minds, so they find out the address of the deceased and travel to his village. They meet his dad, Dinanath (Anupam Kher), his mom, Sulakshana (Moushumi Chatterjee), a sister, and Mohan's wife, but are unable to tell them the sad news. So they lie and tell the Tripathis that Mohan is alive, and they are his friends. The two decide to stick around longer so that they can assist the Tripathis.Actors

One of the most respected inspectors, Arjun Joglekar (Mukesh Khanna) is killed by drug dealer and gangster Goli (Shakti Kapoor). In the beginning, we see Jimmy Cliff (Saif Ali Khan), a call center executive who also teaches English, as the narrator. Pooja Singh (Kareena Kapoor) shows up outside his class and says she needs private tutoring. Without any hesitation, Jimmy quickly agrees as he has already fallen in love with her; he later finds out that Pooja's boss Bhaiyyaji (Anil Kapoor) is the one who has to be tutored. As their love grows, Pooja reveals that she is only working for Bhaiyyaji to pay her debts so she can then go to Haridwar to scatter her father's ashes. They decide to steal Bhaiyyaji's money and run away. The couple succeeds in their mission, and Jimmy asks Pooja to guard the money while he goes to the call center to tell them he is leaving.

The film starts of with School Teacher Satyakant Shastri (Mithun Chakraborty) who has two children, Surya and Shiv. A woman Neha (Ramya Krishnan) witnesses the murder of a friend of her named Madhu (Divya Dutta) by a notorious smuggler Zorawar (Paresh Rawal) but she skips while being chased by Zorawar's goons and ends up in the secure custody of police inspector Arjun Singh (Amitabh Bachchan), a friend of police inspector Pyare Mohan (Govinda). In reality, Neha, unaware of their identities, believes Arjun to be "Pyare", about whom she was agreeably apprised of by Madhu, and so, Arjun has to impersonate Pyare, giving rise to hilarious situations. Concurrently, Pyare flirts with Seema (Raveena Tandon) - Arjun's sister. Everything could have been passable for the two cops if two lookalikes of the cops, by the nicknames "Bade Miyan" (Amitabh Bachchan) and "Chote Miyan" (Govinda) had not been a cause of concern for them because of the misdeeds they commit leading to Arjun and Pyare being accused as the miscreants everytime. With background scores of the songs (specially "Bade Miyan Toh Bade Miyan") that stir the listeners, the movie advances through scenes of thrill and amusement.
