Synopsis
Parva est une jeune étudiante âgée de 17 ans qui est passionnée par les civilisations orientales. La jeune fille va découvrir qu'elle est liée spirituellement à Shiva un prince indien. Au cœur d'une grande forêt, le fils Courge grandit en petit sauvage aux côtés de son père, un colosse bourru et tyrannique qui le maintient dans l'ignorance du monde des hommes. Les seuls amis du fils Courge sont des fantômes muets (dont celui de sa mère) ayant pris forme animale, qui communiquent avec lui par signes. Un jour, alors qu'il cherche à soigner son père blessé et inconscient, le jeune garçon s'aventure hors de la forêt, sur les conseils d'un des fantômes, et découvre un village. Il y fait la rencontre de Manon, la fille du docteur qui a accepté de soigner son père. Avec elle, il découvre l'existence d'un sentiment inconnu pour lui : l'amour. Il se lance alors à la recherche de celui de son père. Une fois Courge rétabli, il retourne vivre dans la forêt avec son fils. Ce dernier finit par apprendre ce qui est arrivé : Autrefois, le père Ronce s'opposait à l'amour de sa fille pour Courge. En pourchassant les amants, il est mort dans l'incendie qu'il avait lui-même provoqué. Courge et son amante ont fui dans la forêt où cette dernière est morte en accouchant de son fils. Fou de chagrin, Courge n'a jamais pu aimer l'enfant.

In contemporary Paris, six characters individually confront their emotional solitude as their lives intertwine. Dan (Lambert Wilson) is unemployed after being sacked from the army and spends his time drinking in a bar and telling his troubles to the longsuffering barman Lionel (Pierre Arditi). Dan's relationship with Nicole (Laura Morante) is disintegrating and through a newspaper advertisement he meets Gaëlle (Isabelle Carré), an attractive but insecure young woman who lives with her older brother Thierry (André Dussollier). Thierry is an estate agent who has been trying to find a new apartment for Nicole and Dan. He works with Charlotte (Sabine Azéma), a middle-aged spinster and an ardent Christian, who lends him a video of an evangelical TV programme to give him inspiration. At the end of the video, Thierry discovers some unerased footage of erotic dancing by a woman he suspects to be Charlotte, and, taking this as an invitation, one day he tries to force her to kiss him in their office. Charlotte in her spare time works as a carer, and is assigned to look after the bed-ridden and foul-mouthed Arthur (the voice of Claude Rich) in the evenings so that his dutiful son, who is Lionel the barman, can go to work. After enduring repeated vicious tantrums from Arthur, Charlotte one evening dons a leather porno outfit and silences him with a striptease performance, before resuming her usual pious demeanour. Arthur is hospitalised next day. Gaëlle witnesses a farewell meeting between Dan and Nicole, and interpreting it as a betrayal by Dan, she flees back home to her brother. Lionel and Nicole both pack up to begin new lives. Dan resumes his place at the bar.

Théo est un garçon de 12 ans qui semble promis à un bel avenir dans le football. Fils de parents divorcés, il vit avec son père qui part un peu à la dérive ayant perdu ses espoirs d'une vie à reconstruire. C'est son fils qui lui remonte le moral et fait tout pour le sortir de son apathie et de sa glissade vers l'alcoolisme. Quand le garçon est remarqué par le sélectionneur d'un grand club anglais, il croit avoir trouvé la perspective qui va remotiver son père. Malheureusement, Théo échoue au test de qualification à cause de sa trop petite taille, raison qui est l'origine de son surnom « fourmi ». Il ne peut annoncer cet échec à son père et va se lancer dans un mensonge qu'il va avoir de plus en plus de mal à maîtriser et qui va entraîner des conséquences multiples.

The story is a mixture between the Tenchi Ryo-Ohki! and Tenchi Universe canon; it's a non-canon tale. Long ago, a young Prince Yosho met a young demon girl, named Yuzuha. Attracted to Yosho, two agreed to meet to play together during the annual Startica celebration on Jurai; she was driven away by the palace guards and she hated Yosho for it. 700 years later, Yuzuha wakes up within the underworld and discovers that Yosho is alive and on Earth, celebrating Christmas with the family and the ladies that had gathered around Tenchi. Two companion sorceresses and on-and-off adversaries, the overpowered Lina Inverse and the underdressed Naga the Serpent, wander into the town of Stoner, famous of its entertainment golem makers. Huey becomes infatuated with Naga's looks, while Galia takes a liking to Lina, and so they choose both sorceresses as models for their respective new golems.
