En 1869, les États-Unis tentent d'organiser un service de courrier postal acheminé par train, en alternative aux diligences. Mais les trains postaux sont régulièrement attaqués. Steve Davis, un ancien officier du renseignement de l'armée, est chargé d'enquêter. Les indices sont minces : quelques billets de banque dérobés et repérés par leur numéro ont circulé dans une petite ville du Wyoming. Steve doit contacter un premier enquêteur travaillant sur place comme opérateur morse. Ce dernier est assassiné dès l'arrivée de Steve. Steve observe à proximité une empreinte de fer à cheval particulière, caractéristique des chevaux du personnel du pénitencier voisin. Il décide d'infiltrer ce pénitencier en se faisant passer pour un voleur de banque condamné, une dangereuse mission .

In 9th century BC Israel, the prophet Elijah advises king Ahab not to marry Jezebel, an idolatrous princess of Phoenicia. Ahab sends for Jezebel, however, and commands Jehu, his captain, to escort her caravan safely to Jezreel. Once Jehu meets Jezebel, he immediately becomes attracted to her and she confuses him for Ahab. Jezebel finally arrives at Jezreel and is greeted by Ahab who, stunned by her beauty, provides her with an individual chamber until they marry. On her wedding night, Jezebel evades Ahab and pursues Jehu, whom she seduces.

Flight 60 leaves on a trip to Washington, DC. Three scientists on board have been called for a classified meeting concerning a new bomb design and rocket to deliver it. Mid-flight the plane mysteriously begins to climb, to over 10 miles high. The engines stop, and passengers pass out due to lack of oxygen. The three scientists find themselves in a limbo state, watches stopped and no heartbeats. They are taken from the plane for judgement from those of the future. They find themselves in a moment between time, which explains the stopped watches and lack of heart beats. They are shown, in brief, a future where their bomb has been used and destroyed all life on the planet, having destroyed the atmosphere. They are judged guilty and sentenced to live in the moment with no time for the rest of eternity, where the future and past meet. After one of the future men objects that they can not be judged by a future society, they are returned to the present on a technicality. The passengers have no memory of any of the actions on board before passing out, with the exception of the rocket engineer. When the plane lands at Washington, they discover they are 24 hours late, thus proving the fantastic story of the trial and judgement. The nuclear bomb designer disposes of his notebook containing the formulas and designs for the bomb.
