Boss Cat (Eric Tsang) is a warrior who had participated in the Boxer Rebellion. Cat is responsible for guarding Huang Jin Xia town, which have gathered many revolutionaries around China. There, they do not discuss about revolution nor care about politics and lead peaceful lives there. Sai-lim (Gigi Leung), a woman who was rescued by Cat, is oblivious that years ago, Cat not only rescued her and her child, he also rescued her heart.
The film is set in China in 370 BC during the Warring States period. A massive army from the Zhao state is on its way to attack the Yan state. Liang, a city-state on the Zhao–Yan border, is in peril of being conquered by the Zhao army. Ge Li, a Mohist, comes to Liang to help defend the city. Although the King of Liang has already planned for peace talks with the invaders, Ge Li manages to convince him and the people of Liang to put up resistance by warning them of the consequences of surrendering. He also promises the King that the invaders will give up on Liang if they fail to conquer it within a month, because their main target is actually the Yan state. The King has doubts about Ge Li's idea but still puts Ge in command of his army.

Lise Mueller (Kamie Harper) and Inge Dornenwald (Jenny Lewis) are 13-ish year old best friends in Vienna, Austria of 1938, in the months before and during the Anschluss. Lise is Catholic and Inge is Jewish. Trouble comes since Lise's father is a Nazi sympathizer who travels to and from Germany to join the paramilitary Nazi SA upon the upcoming Anschluss, bringing her mother, who is helpless to do anything about it, and her older brother, Heinz, who is himself a Nazi sympathizer like his father. Lise's father forbids Inge to visit them anymore and Inge's parents do likewise with her. But they both meet in secret, ex. the large cathedral in Vienna.

En 1989, Jean Bach, productrice de radio realisa un documentaire a partir de cette photo et retrace de grands moments de la legende du jazz.
À hauteur d'homme est inspiré de la vie du docteur Louis Seutin, médecin et chirurgien belge du XIX siècle qui s'initia à son art au milieu des combats des guerres du Premier Empire français. Rentré en Belgique, il se consacra au progrès de la médecine, notamment dans la réorganisation des hôpitaux et dans les domaines de la lutte contre la fièvre puerpérale, du développement de la chirurgie osseuse et de la guérison des fractures. Sa méthode amovo-inamovible de réduction des fractures échappe aux défauts des méthodes qui l'ont précédée en conjuguant les avantages des méthodes légères et des méthodes lourdes sans leurs inconvénients.
