The film revolves around a murder mystery. The story takes place in the mid 19th century. A biracial nurse named Roxy (Jane Wolff) swaps her son with her master's son. That son grows up as Tom Driscoll, while the real Tom grows up as the slave known as Chambers. Rowena Cooper comes from the North and falls in love with Chambers. Chambers is accused of murder and the eccentric lawyer Pudd'nhead Wilson looks for details. He uses fingerprints to uncover the real killer, but during his investigation he figures out Chambers and Tom were switched as infants.
Teddy Greene (Charles Santore) is a Los Angeles debt collector with a short fuse who burns too many bridges and now must leave town before he gets himself killed. The film’s narrative revolves around Teddy and the low-life scum that he encounters in his everyday life. When he's not collecting money, threatening people in broad daylight, or getting blowjobs from hookers, he's often being scolded by the underworld crime boss that he works for. His family life isn't much better. His estranged wife and deadbeat father only come around when they need money and the only person in his life that he trusts is his mentor, a former debt collector who gives Teddy a chance to get out of the racket before things take a turn for the worse. Of course Teddy doesn't take his mentor's advice which tragically leads to the most stable person in his world being murdered on the direct orders of his own boss. This act of betrayal sets in motion the film’s climatic showdown as Teddy decides to take matters into his own hands.
The plot line focuses on the Lassader family, headed by Joe and Carol, whose daughter Selena searches out Derek McGregor and his team to hunt and kill a vampire colony that is holding the family hostage by drinking the blood of their livestock, the source of their income. Accepting the offer, McGregor and his small team begin a bloody, terrifying journey to track and destroy the evil vampire brood, with the help of vampire specialist Xavier Burns.
